New to this whole thing, and LOVING it.
I am experimenting with steeping, and have some questions/theories about a couple of things.
First, it seems that with the hot water method, leaving the cap off as it cools back down would speed up the evaporation process, so I did that. However, the flavor I steeped was not alcohol flavored, so I don't know if this helped or not, but I will keep doing this.
When hot water steeping, would it make any difference if using 10ml vs 30 ml bottles? I have a ton of 10ml bottles, and plan on transferring my new juices from the 30ml or larger to them before steeping. I am assuming that the smaller volume will let it heat more evenly with shaking... and then, I can store them in a dark place, allowing me to retrieve 10ml at a time, so the rest can steep.
Would it make more sense to buy larger bottles, and simply refill the smaller ones from that? Normally, I would think I was overthinking this, however, it's along the line of aging alcohol in vats vs bottles... but on a smaller scale.
