Thats the best way to describe it. Only running it at around 35 watts. The whole contraption gets very warm and worst of all no flavor. Sometimes it will burn my lip. Is this a shortcoming in my hardware or I need to not be hitting on it that often ? 35 watts doesn't seem outlandish.

You need to get whatever device keeps you off the stinkies.... One of my fav things about my griffin 25+ is the derlin tip.... doesnt get hot ever.
