Right behind you...
Well I received mine today from Gearbest (ordered on Sep 30) and it still has the problem. My guess would be, they haven't dealt with it yet. The irritating thing to me is, they have to have known about this problem for awhile now and it should have pulled/recalled by them to rectify it. Instead it seems like they decided to sell them and let us deal with the potential future problems.

The odd thing is, I also have 2 hcigar VT200's that don't have this problem. I'm left to wonder why? Did they update the firmware? There has to be some reason that the Hotcig is the only one I'm aware of that's coming with severely depleted batteries.

Cheers,
Steve

Could just be the difference in the length of time from final assembly to when you received the units. I.e., the hcigar units were perhaps "fresher". And no, Hotcig isn't the only one that did this, there are reports of the same problem with the HCigar, the VapeCige, the Cigreen, etc.

What is the date that the 200 board was programmed at Evolv? Click on "Get Information" in EScribe General tab and you can see the date.

Also in the Device Monitor in the right lower corner it shows the firmware version currently installed. What is shown there?

Sorry you had problems with them. I guess I got lucky because mine arrived with a half charge and battery was fine. Could be I got mine about 2&1/2 weeks earlier and drain was not bad. Did have to update firmware, etc.. But I assume most of us did that first thing. Hope its OK in the end. Otherwise, mine has been good but I do have backups in case of future problems. Good luck!

The board was programmed on June 25, 2015. The firmware version is 2015-08-21. I updated the firmware as soon as I hooked it up to Escribe the first time.

Just a quick update. I used recovery charging on Escribe last night. After it was finished all cells read 4.2v. Used for a bit after it was done charging. Then after sitting overnight, I hooked it back up and all cells were at 4.02v. Seems like the recovery charging worked :) .

Cheers,
Steve

Could you please share your source of $41.80 battery shipped? I tried www.hotcig.net but it seems to be inaccessible.

It worked when I clicked on your link, though I don't see where the spare batteries are available on the site. I just looked quick. Maybe it's your browser, I'm using Chrome.

Cheers,
Steve

So I am curious as to what I should be doing about this. Of course after the firmware update I also checked the battery levels for the cells. So there it was Cell 3 - 0.00 and after abit on recovery charge they all boosted up to 3.2V+. But however after complete recharge Cells 1 and 2 showed 4.2 and 4.19 respectively with Cell 3 3.95V never reaching beyond 4V. So my question is, it's a bad battery cell isn't it?

EDIT: After backtracking in this thread i'm pretty sure it has gone bad. So I initiated a ticket with fasttech just recently. Just to add at complete charge it was showing 7.110 Wh instead of the intended range of the pack.

Reviewing Vape equipment is an art if done correctly. These just sort of hurt my ears and are utterly riddled with erroneous information:

Hope some feels compelled to educate him in the comments section but I would probably be banned if I told him what I thought of his videos immediately after watching them.

Thanks for contact e-mail address at HotCig. I think Evolv will honor the warranty on your DNA200, unless you are able to replace it yourself. I would.
Yep it's on it's way to Evolv right now but I think from here on out its the manufacturers that are going to have to fix. That's the impression I got..

Hopefully we can see some different colors in the coming weeks for sure. I can still dig the black no questions asked. Anywho I've been in contact with Hotcig over my bad cell and honestly hope that I can get a replacement battery. At least if its an option and the last thing I want to do is send the whole unit back to FT if it can be avoided. Despite this crap for my battery I really do like this device quite well.
