How does the Household Budgetary Committee treat shoe purchases?

The Household Budgetary Committee is currently in heavy negotiations regarding the purchasing of footware.
As of this date there is a stalemate regarding the following much debated points:

Against the Appropriation of Shoes Sub-Committee:

"You have an enormous amount of shoes..."
"Yes, but some of them are almost 6 years old!"
"Your argument is self defeating, why do you own 6 year old shoes?"
"Cause there not worn out, there still good!"
"Hence, you have enough shoes."
"*sigh*"

For the Appropriation of Shoes Committee:

"It's almost spring!"
"What does that have to do with anything?"
"I need new sandals!"
"You have sandals."
"Well, I need better sandals!"
"Why, pray tell, do you need better sandals?"
"Because my toes can't breathe. It's been a long winter, and my toes need to breathe!"
"Wait... your what need to what?"
"Ahhh! They're suffocating!"

As you see, this deadlock is quite serious. I will report back with late breaking developments as they happen.

If the shoe fits.....

buy it in every color.

I totally agree!
The Shoe Appropriation Committee has been arguing this point since it's inception.

Unfortunately, the Household Budgeting Committee seems unmoved by what I feel are very valid points:
"But they're perfect!"
"It could be my all-purpose-go-to-shoe! I'd be saving money... really!"
"You never know, it might become a trend to wear 2 complimenting color shoes at the same time! I'd be ahead of the trend!"

The Household Budgetary Committee is just mean-spirited and spiteful, I tell you.

Ahhh, but what if you were to add the e-cig 2011 budget as an 11th hour amendment to the food appropriations bill currently up for vote? They'd never see it coming. By the time the discretionary juice funds were siphoned off, the household government oversight committee would be powerless to stop you. It'll work, I tell ya!

Then, while the oversight committee holds hearings to determine just what the heck happened to the household budget, you could slip in a couple of shoe appropriation riders to existing special funding requests backed by the opposing party that would have to go through unblocked or they would lose their pet project. Pure brilliance

I can neither confirm nor deny that I have ever worked for the gubbermint in any capacity.
