I'm still vaping away on my Riva but Houston we have a problemo here. When I first started (2 days ago) I could taste every flavor I put in the carts. Now I just taste vape with just a hint of the flavor. I keep wetting the atty and topping off the cart. What am I doing wrong? Most of my e-liquids are PG and between 12 and 18mg of nic.

Also I have found that the cig flavors just aren't for me and I enjoy vaping so much more with the sweet flavors (Veteran vapors were spot on with the advice that tobacco flavors may not be what you need as a newbie). My question is should I get VG for a more intense flavor? What would be the trade off versus using PG?

Finally, I am patiently waiting for my drip tip and would really like to get a flat tip for the comfort any suggestions? As always thanks for your guidance.;)

Thanks Chuck and blue moods, after thinking about it... Does vape have a taste? I say this because maybe I just got to a few of the liquids that I don't particularly like.
Wishful thinking to assume all of the flavors would be spot on I guess.
What about the question regarding more intense flavor does that come from PG vs. VG or is that just something dependent on the vendor?

Your taste buds will be coming alive and tastes will change. I also find I can get to a point where I no longer taste a flavor after I've vaped it for awhile...like desensitized.

A little VG can add sweetness but then dilutes the flavoring as well. You could get some flavorings to spruce up your juices or order double flavorings offered from some vendors.

I routinely doctor my juices up ;) it's fun playing mad scientist and swapping around allows me to go back and taste a flavor I had been desensitized to previously. Also combining two complimentary flavors is nice for change.

I'm almost 3 weeks in and the flavors are starting to return after disappearing. I was getting worried, but think Chuck is right in that taste buds need to adapt.

A lot of vaping makes my mouth dry, so I'm trying to drink as I vape. For some reason Cranberry juice with water helps with the flavors. Maybe find a light juice/water combo to keep the taste palate clean and hydrated.

Usually PG based e-juice will have a little more flavor and VG based e-juice will be slightly sweeter. Personally I use a 70/30 mix of PG/VG. Still has good flavor but with lots of vapor.

Another thing about the flavors. What you like when you first start will probably change some as you get more experienced. When I first started I hated vanilla, it was almost tasteless and just left a funny taste in my mouth. Now thats what I vape most of the time. I mix 60ml a month of just that one flavor and about 30ml a month of the others that I make. (I go through 3-4ml per day)

I agree with laurel099 about doctoring the flavor - it does wonders. I have found I can hardly taste a lot of the e-juices I buy - I have also found that adding a little sucralose based liquid sweetner (see ez-sweetz website for a free sample) will make your e-liquids lot sweeter - and you can get little bottles of flavorings on DIY websites for about $2 each.
