Maybe a dumb newbie question but I recently picked up some Artic Mint e-liquid from litecig (thanks Shawn) which tatses excellent, by the way.

Problem is, even after the cart is exhausted, my other carts end up tasting like mint for a little while...wait I worded that wrong..what I mean to say is that a take the exhausted mint cart off and put a cart frshly filled with 555 or ecopure and I can still taste the mint.

Whats the best way to get the "flavor" off the atty so I can enjoy a different flavor without tasting the previous ones.

Ive puffed away with an empty cart so Im just vaping whats on the atty but I can never completely get it out. Any ideas?

Oh and Im using an EVO.

Thanks.

Evo (+401s) here, too.

If you add 1ml of water to 1ml of menthol ejuice you'll see it go cloudy - water brings the menthol out of solution whereas pg and vg keep the menthol in solution (clear). the pg/vg in your insert is acting as a magnet for the menthol left in the bridge....so..........

blow out the atty, rinse in warm (doesnt' need to be hot) water for a few minutes, blow out, rinse in warm water again, blow out. Dry battery threads inside the atom, and carefully (gently) blot papertowel on bridge. blow out. (a bit of water left inside the atom isn't going to hurt anything, but you don't want water left on the threads that can get into the battery). Prime with two or three drops eliquid of flavor of choice, (turn the EVO horizontal to put drops on the bridge, never ever vertical) wait 5 minutes - you want to give the PG/VG time to grab onto any menthol/water remaining - blow out! reprime. Vape with empty cart, add a drop of desired flavor every 5 or 6 puffs if you need to so you don't dry out the atty. Do this until you can start to taste the flavor you're adding (probably no more than 2-3 drops and you'll start to get the flavor). Give the atty a break if it gets hot (warm is ok, hot is not) Pop on loaded cart. Good to go. Vape away as you're online ordering a new atty just for menthol :)

I'm working 6 attys at the moment, kept covered by different flavors. When I want a new flavor, just unscrew one atty/cart and put on a diff one. My menthol stays on a black cart, cola stays on a brown cart, etc. I have atoms that are silver/gold/black/white-banded and three colors of carts, some evo, some generic.

some folks use model paint or nail polish to put a tiny unobtrusive dot of color on the band of the atty to code what flavor it's dedicated to if they dont' have different colored batteries or carts.

Hope this helps!

Vodka, or Everclear if you can get it. It will take the smell out of empty perfume bottles, and if it can do that it will surely remove flavor from atomizers.

I second this. I take a syringe and fill my atty half full of alcohol, plug both ends with my fingers, then give the atty a good shaking for ten to thirty seconds, then blow it out from the cart end. This cleans the atty while getting rid of the taste from your prior juice.

that wouldn't quite work for a EVO/401 atty (exposed) - excellent for a 510/801/901 (sunken atty) tho' :)

Nail polish thing????? Do yo mean nail polish remover? I really wouldn't do that because it cetainly isn't 'vape friendly' and you don't want to be getting fumes from acetone when you vape.

8-o oh no Angela I meant using nail polish on the carts to mark them for different flavors. I would never put anything like nail polish or remover on the inside of my EVO. LOL:D

Thank god for that! LOL ;) (I have heard of people using acetone, which is why I juped to that conclusion! 8-o )

In that case, you could swish the atty around a bit in a shotglass of alcohol. I advise against soaking for any length of time, but that's just me.
There's no real need to immerse it at all (unless you are giving it a proper clean and want to soak it.... which really hardly ever (if at all) needs to be done.

Just dripping 2-3 drops of clear alcohol on the bridge, leaving for a few seconds, then blowing out, does the trick perfectly for removing flavours in my experience, and you don't need to wait hours / days for it to dry off either! ;)

I think what was meant here regarding the nail polish; was using nail polish to place a dot or mark of some sort on the outside of the atty to distinguish it from others. That way one can use dedicated attys for different flavors.

Exactly! And to mark the carts as well.

Mint and menthol are they worst, they linger like in-laws visiting over the holiday. The ingredients in e-liquid are all water soluble, so a good rinse under hot water is all you needs. Or soak it for a while (good regular maintenance) in hot water or cola or lemon juice. But then you have to wait for the atomizer to dry out. :(

It goes away on it's own, but the best advice is to follow up your mint with a flavor that goes well with mint! :pervy: I usually switch over to a tobacco or chocolate flavor for a while. After a while it gets weaker and weaker until you're just left with tobacco or chocolate.

I always walk on the door with 3 bottles of juice and they're always very different flavors. Today it's Pina Colada, Camel, and Butter Rum. Go figure. The truth is any flavor mix still beats the taste of an analog.
