How many have watched juice reviews on Utube?
They seem to love all the ejuice they try.
I place little faith in juice reviews. Taste is VERY subjective.
I look at the ingredients in a recipe and see if I think it will be good or not to me.
Then I try it.
Still wind up lubricating the garbage disposal from time to time.

The reviews are only accurate if you have the same taste sensitivity as the reviewer. The subjective part should only be whether the flavour profile appeals to you, not whether it tastes accurate to it, that is if it is a well made juice.

I theorise that if the juices are made by a super taster (and obviously it tastes good to them) then the juices should taste good to everyone that the flavour profile appeals to (maybe just seeming 'weak' to non-tasters though?).

I am pretty sure that half the juice manufacturers and DIYers would happily vape sweetened cat's piss if it was in a bottle with a fancy label.

I would look for other reviews too...

HIC's reviews I will summarise below:
(Insert flavouring name here) tastes just like biting in to an actual (insert fruit/desert/etc here), not a candy, but the real thing...

His descriptions did inspire me to buy a load of FA flavourings, some are good, others not so good (just like all the other manufacturers).
His recipes have been more miss than hit for me, but the orange tic tac one is good.
I think he generally shake n vapes, so maybe the recipes are better fresh.

Lol at your summary of his descriptions. Slight exaggeration, but you aren't too far off, especially with his descriptions of the fruit flavors, although i have read many others claim their fruits are more authentic than other vendors as well. Regardless, seems you're not a fan ! I would've been surprised if he didn't have his detractors tbh. It's the nature of the beast, same thing with commercial juice. A vendor will gain a lot of following on a forum ( ECF, Reddit, wherever ), and others are bound to come along to say the juice is overrated.

But your point is well taken, i am not going to assume i will like something because others have called it a " masterpiece ". I provided the link mainly for the poster who was very fond of HIC's recipes. I haven't tried reproducing any of them, nor anyone else' recipes myself. I still have a lot of commercial juice which i intend to go through before giving diy an earnest try. Right now, i am just passively researching by reading some threads in different forums.

Before i delve fully into diy, i am ordering a few FA flavors to add to some ( about a liter ) 50/50/12 unflavored liquid i have. Something really simple like a few drops of a fruit flavor and a few drops of cream base maybe, and i don't want to bring the nic level too much lower than 12. I also like the cytotoxity research FA are doing on flavors, and that they have been certified diketone free by an independent lab.
