I've been very happy with the $10 belkin outlet timer. I use one upstairs for my pv chargers, a second in the basement for cordless power tool chargers.

I am not sure what the tr001 discharge rate is when disconnected from power, haven't bothered chasing it down since I have been playing with a different charger lately.

I picked up a decent charging bag, too, never used it, just sits on a shelf. The timer gets things well into my personal comfort zone.

Gee I don't know what the whole hubub is about on charging batteries, man I charges mine under a pile of newspapers and in a room that collects my sawdust from my saws ....never had a problem.

Now you do have me a little worried .......... charging bag you say.

Ok failed attempt at humor, I picked up an Xtar WP6II for $35 charges 6 batteries at the same time. Pricey but I like good chargers I feel It will help my batteries last a little longer.

Never thought of using a timer. That's a good idea. I usually just wait until I will be around long enough to keep an eye on it until it finishes. That's one of the reasons I got 3 sets of batteries for my ∞ pro, so I would have plenty of time to spare if I forget to charge them. But sometimes I tell hubby to unplug it when finished when I go to work, and come home the next morning to find it still plugged in.

And now that I am thinking of batteries... I had a set die this morning and another set that still needed to be charged. Now I can't remember if I have the first set charging or the second set.
