Hey everyone, Im waiting for an order of various e liquids to arrive, and have been noticing people talking about steeping them before use.
None of the actual websites I've checked out talk about this, so it was news to me. Please fill me in on when and how and why to steep e liquids.
thanks in advance!
Also, are they perishable? How should I be storing them?

Hi Squish,

Best time to steep is if the company who made the liquid, made it to order and didn't pull it off a shelf to fill your order. Raw liquids( those that are literally created when you order them) can be chemical smelling and tasting , and many times don't taste like they will after a time on a dark cool shelf.

A good way to steep is to set the product on a cool dark shelf somewhere for a week or more , shaking vigorously daily to ensure the elements in the liquid blend properly and aerate properly.Over that time, the flavor's personality will develop.
You should also remember to shake vigorously before loading your cartridge or cartomizer, as has been mentioned in a few other threads over the past year nicotine can settle, which will give you a very light vape in the beginning and then a very harsh lacking in flavor vape in the end of the bottle.

Different vendors juice may require different methods, for me anyways.

I try them right out of the box, if they don't work for me right away, I remove the tops and store in a dark/cool place and revisit them in 24-48hrs later. Some are good to go, whereas others need more time.
This method will either make the flavor more pronounced or it will diminish depending on the vendors recipe.

If the juice is 'streamy' looking, I use the hot water method. I microwave a cup of water for 1+ minutes; check to insure the bottle is secure and place it into the hot water until it reaches room temp. (I put juice from a larger bottle into a 10-15ml bottle just in case something would go wrong, better safe than sorry.)
The bottle will at first start to collapse and you should see a little bubble action, then as it starts to cool, it will slightly swell. Once it reaches room temp. the bottle should be back to normal and the juice should appear without 'streaks'.

Hope that helps :)
