How are those within your circle perceiving your change from analogs?

Here in Upstate NY it's just starting to get popular. My best friend doesn't smoke, but she's the one who pointed me in the direction of the new B&M in town. My hubby is vaping now too, which is awesome. My family is very supportive. I feel quite fortunate.

all my friends and co workers are happy to see me giving up the analogs they do however wonder when I'll blow myself up with all the crazy vaping gear I have lol. I had the Hana clone at work today and was told it looks like a detonator. I was asked to demo it so I threw a dripper on it and threw up a few big clouds and the guy walked away shaking his head saying yep we will find some of Joe over here, over there, every friggin where. lol I get ribbed about it but they are all happy I have been able to quit using the gear

IMO- a thread like this won't exist in a couple years because vaping will be a known and accepted vice in all corners big and small. Well, unless the FDA royally screws us and decides agenda is more important than human health....again....

I'm just glad I made the choice for myself. It's a better life. An enjoyable life. A whole life. Without the worry and guilt. Very thankful to be part of it.

Living in small town Kansas the people have no clue what I am doing but the feeling I get is close to what many felt back in the 50's and " weefer madness". I get some of the strangest looks.....fear, bewilderment, suspicion, and of course the look of "..." is that!? They know but yet never seen it live and in person so it is like they just met an alien. But once I explain they seem to be very supportive. I even have a buddy who went and bought some cigalikes just to have something to play around with and he does not even smoke....he just has a terrible case of ADHD:lol:

But in reality I really don't care what is said/thought, it is my life and if I want to preserve it I will do just that, the support is nice but I would not have needed it unless I had not made the dumb decision to smoke in the first place:laugh:

I really only get any flak from smokers, some crusader type ex-smokers and a few random strangers in the wild who may fall into one of those categories for all I know (or care). My kids are thrilled. My neighbors are mostly nonsmoking and curious. Even my ex is relatively supportive!

In the end it doesn't really matter though. What matters is what YOU think...and how much better you feel! :)

Great topic!

I too have a relatively small circle; neighbors, parents of my kids' moms, husband, and some online friends.

I am so enthusiastic about Vaping and having quit smoking that really I haven't given anyone I personally know a chance to offer anything negative to say. I hit them with positive after positive result and facts so they don't really even have a chance to be a nay-sayer. I had two online friends question the safety of Vaping but now THEY are also Vaping, if that gives you any idea of what I'm talking about. :)

The only places I really vape in the "wild" are vape shops or in my car. I don't vape in public because I didn't smoke in public or while walking down the street, so it's not in my habit. I will say that since I am not shy nor weirded out by being observed in public, I prefer to think that if someone were to see me Vaping in public that they'd be like, "that innocuous basic white woman is Vaping. Hm. Must not be the coming of the anti-Christ after all."

I get asked what it is more often than not or what am I smoking. That said I'm a big guy with a full beard and live out in the woods outside of town etc. I guess I don't fit any normal stereotype and people who know me know I never have used illegal drugs and don't really drink anymore just always smoked. Either way the other day I had some loggers in quoting a cut on my land and I went out to meet them and walk the property lines etc. They kept staring at my breast pocket of my shirt I was carrying my mvp with kayfun attached. While talking etc I didn't take a vape just went through things then headed back in the shop. Few days later I met with them again to talk about money and while standing around I took a couple vapes. The main logger I know fairly well said something to the effect of I gotta ask what the heck is that. The other guy with us the other day thought drugs or something with you woods guys etc etc. I just explained it while laughing, they mentioned I seemed pretty happy so they wondered and it's just my disposition I am typically a happy guy especially walking in the woods. He was good about it but it was funny to hear what they thought it could be. I build holsters for a living and am very friendly with many law enforcement officers here and all over the country not to mention it's just not my nature to do something illegal so I got a kick out of it. Thought you guys and gals may as well.

Take care!

Luke
