Yes, I am fully aware of the conductivity of various metals and where copper sits in that comparison, (that's why I bought the Stingray X)and a fully understand the beauty of finely polished copper, but how can anyone stand to use anything that turns their hand green in 5 minutes and makes it smell like pennies?

I want a second Mech, but I'll be danged if I want to smell like a penny jar.

I saw this in another thread recently which made me wish I had a copper mod. Since you already have one and you're not happy with it, maybe this will be a nice project for you. In the end, it turns out beautifully!

COOL!
I could see getting a copper mod and doing this.

When I smell like copper it is usual due to my line of work. So I don't mind too much. The hand turning green... Well that can be taken care of with a hand-washing.

Chinese clones usually use a lower grade of copper from I've heard That said I have a authentic copper BFM from BCV that does not turn my hand green or smell like pennies even vaping it hours on end..

The quality of the copper does not have anything to do with weather your hand turns green or not; it is rather your body chemistry and oils released. Case in point, both my buddy and I have Red Copper LE Stingrays (authentics), while my hand gets green and my mod tarnishes/patinas, his hand does not get green and his mod gets polished by his oils. Just how things go...

in this case for me the perks of good conductivity outweighs the penny smell/green hands. buy hey, thats just me since i prefer using mods that hit hard opposed to SS mods with frustratingly high voltage drop

Amen.

I read this a few times, it doesn't say that you've actually used/owned a copper body mod just that you're wondering HOW someone could? Personally I've never experienced the penny hand smell OR the green hands and I own three copper body mods that get used every day.

Stingray X is a good choice though, I love mine! It's the only SS body mod I currently use since it's lined with solid copper.

For the times I want shiny and don't care if my hand gets a little green on it I use my above mentioned Red Copper LE 'ray. For most other times I like my X Ti as it is the same as the last line in above quote :2cool:

Sometimes I think I can oxidize metals at a distance.

The ONE thing I dislike about my copper mods is that I polish them one afternoon/evening, use them, go to sleep, and by the next morning usually they have started tarnishing. Though more use usually gets them back to good. I guess it's a trade off really.

This might be a little off topic but my buddy had his girlfriends old satin finish ss provari powder coated for her..no sweaty hands will affect the powder coat.. I think a powder coated copper mod would be cool..but that's just me..lol

The outer tube is part of the circuit. Atty is grounded to the tube, switch makes contact with batt completing the circuit. Copper, brass, ss all experience some form of voltage drop with copper supposed to suffer the least. Myself, I just drop a wrap from the coil if need be. SS for me.........hell of a lot mo' purdy to look at.
