How can I change resistance?

I just built my first atty for my Nova and it coming in at about 5ohms. So far all I'm getting out of it is a burnt taste from 5v-6v.

What gauge resistance wire did you use? How many wraps around wick?

.12mm Nichrome. and 5 wraps. Also I think the burnt taste is just a wicking problem. I used 2 wicks and I think it might be a little big for these heads. I cut a small space in the rubber piece where the wicks are. It helped a little.
