If a person vapes the equivalent of one or two analogs in a small room with the door closed and then someone enters the room five minutes later is that person going to be able to detect any odor of any kind?

What about smell through a closed door?

I would think that pure PG + nic juice would have to produce a "fog machine" smell at the minimum. It would not be cool if after a couple of minutes of vaping the place smelled like a disco! Then again, maybe the amounts involved are too small to affect an entire room.

I'm looking at the 401 as my most likely purchase. I plan to pull the stuffing from my cartridge and direct dip. I'll vape till the atty is dry and that will be all. No refills.

I've noticed that some people cut their juice with vodka or everclear. Would it help if I bought a high nic juice like nhalers 60mg DIY and cut it down to my desired level with vodka instead of PG? I'm thinking less PG means less fog machine smell.

Unfortunately, my two planned sources don't carry unflavored DIY juice.

I'll get my trial juices from litecigusa.net. Are any of their offerings good "stealth" juices?

If all goes well, I'd like to place a big order with absolutelyecigs.com. Are any of their flavors good "stealth" juices? Also, why the heck don't they sell unflavored?

These are the specific litecigusa juices I am most interested in. If you know what they smell like (room smell not vaping flavor) please let me know! :)

Well, as far as I can tell (and my sense of smell is coming back full force.. yuck), there is not much, if any, lingering smell. I vape in my car with the windows closed (something I would never do with smoking) and can't smell it when I get back in. My highly anti-smoking parents let me vape in their house and car and have not complained about so I'm thinking if there is a smell it is not unpleasant.

There must be a small amount of fragrance in the vapor because I vaped amaretto outside at lunchtime (windy day) and after lunch people kept telling me that I smelled good - like macaroons!

I vape almost exclusively in one room in the house and there is absolutely no detectable odor. If there was, it would smell like coffee/toffee/banana, so that would be ok with everyone in my house!

I have some of the RY4 from litecig and it smells like vanilla and caramel. my kids love the smell of it, so it must not be too bad lol. after only a little under a week of vaping my sense of smell has been coming back and my nose feels super sensitive and i don't pick up any stinky smells from my vaping. i have been searching the house far and wide for some unrelated strange stench i can't find and it's driving me nuts lol.

why such a stealthy vaporer, what do you have to hide?

    Exactly what I was thinking.

My son, for years now, has put the neck band of his shirts up over his face when in the same room even across the room from me when I smoked analogs. Now he and I can sit on the couch together watching a movie and it doesn't bother him one bit. In fact he'll lean in to see if he can get a whiff of the menthol scent.

I have vaped on a roadtrip with my parents in the same car and they never knew. my mom said she could smell a fruity smell but barely. she eventually figured out what i was doing but she didnt care. My dad never knew and i was doing it for pretty much half of the 6 hour car ride.

I do it in the house all the time. nobody has noticed. no smell, a small, and i mean very small smell is there while you are doing it. but it goes away in 3 seconds

My office mates say it smells like candy, but it is no problem and does not linger in a large room. My office at home is small with little air flow...pretty much smells like candy most of the time. Those mL's of juice have to go somewhere if there is no airflow!

But there are lots of unflavored juices out there. I like VTVapor's unlfavored VG juice. Many think MyFreedomSmokes has the best.

OTOH, if you are a kid living at home and have parents that do not want you ingesting drugs of any kind, nic being a drug, perhaps you should not be doing it at all. Speaking as a parent. DIY is not exactly stealth. And if you are under 18, then you shouldn't be vaping nic at all. Just sayin'.

I have vaped on the couch next to my non-smoking hubbie (who HATES any hint of cig odor) and he has been completely unaware of my vaping despite my being only about 1 1/2 feet away. I have blown vapor from various "flavors" directly into his face yet he says NONE have any aroma. I have vaped in the houses of RABID anti-smoking relatives and they never knew.
However, I PERSONALLY have always had an extremely acute sense of smell (despite having been a smoker for over 20 years) I have occaisioanally noticed an EXTREMELY faint, and not at all unpleasant, aroma in the house after I have been vaping heavily. I usually only notice it if I leave the house and return a little later. No one else smells it at all.

No I'm not "a kid" or under 18. I wish I had that problem. (And knew all that I know now!)

However, I say if you're over 18 you decide what goes into your body not you parents regardless of where you live, the only restriction being that it is 100% legal.

I am absolutely not a supporter of this trend to push an extended childhood on people over 18. The under 25 crowd is immature enough already these days. We should not be trying to turn 20 year olds into overdependent children.

Two hundred years ago a 16 or 17 year old would be married, probably have one or more children, and be a head of household. It was like that all the way back to the beginning...

Life ended at 30 or 35 for most of human history. Most people didn't live to 40! It's so sad that today we consider people under 30 "kids."

Didn't mean to sound accusatory. There is abundant information here available for anyone, and given the attacks we as a community have to endure, think of it as a security disclaimer, nothing more. We do not want kids vaping, and its hard to keep them out 100%.

Stealth vaping is sometimes necessary, for sure. If you are really worried about creating smells, stick with unflavored for those times. Nic itself will have no scent, nor will PG or VG, although they can make still air seem heavy.

The only real problem I have ever had was when I was hitting the thing like a chimney using "Chocolate Mint" LorAnn flavor.

My coworkers were complaining that it was irritating their eyes, and it was an unpleasent smell to them. I no longer use this mix at work, and so I have not had any issues other than that.

I have noticed that unflavored has like no smell after a few seconds. Well, none that I can notice. I am shoving the thing in my mouth, and one never notices their own bad breath.
