My name is well...my name and the number 26 is just a number I use for most of my logins when they require one. At the time I started using that number I was 26. My avitar is me out to dinner with my husband at this Fondue restaraunt in Atlanta. He's right next to me, but I cropped him out to make my avatar.

Who needs imagination -- or husbands in the pic -- with such pretty avatars, ladies?

Okay, I'll bite too. My avatar is a Pokémon actually named Vaporeon, which woulda been my nym here if I'd thought of it first. My kids forced me to start playing Pokémon a few years back (they are in their 20s) and I am never without (a) vaping supplies and (b) my DS. My first avatar here was a rebuild of my Mii (which is your custom avatar when you play certain games on a Wii), not-so-cleverly edited to include my original 901 in my mouth, with messed-up vapor coming out of the LED end! D'oh!

::goes back and sits in corner now::

K... here goes...

BEATLE
My avatar and name come from my love for the Beatles.
BANDAIDE
I hung out with a band for a while when I was in college and I'm a fan of the movie "Almost Famous" so that's where the "band-aide" part comes in.

Soooo there you have it.

Wonderful idea for a thread MaryKay! :D

Us Tampa girls should be good at doing smoke..we come from the "Cigar City!" Well it was until the FDA and the smoke free people messed it up!

Heh. And before I came here, I lived in Richmond, VA for 10 years and drove past the Philip Morris curing warehouses every day. I never really loved the smell of smoke itself, but it sure smelled great around those warehouses.

They roast coffee somewhere close to where I work now. You would think that would smell like you'd died and gone to Caffeine Heaven. You would be oh so wrong -- yikes, it is FOUL.

Oh, and Almost Famous is a good movie, I need to throw that one in the queue again.

Ok, I'll bite...

Shivadance comes from a set of men's adventure books I started reading in my teens called "The Destroyer." The movie "Remo Williams - The Adventure Begins" was based on the series. Bad movie, excellent books. Anywho, I would read anything as a teen and this Remo guy was the incarnation of the Hindu god Shiva, who would dance the tandava with Kali to destroy and recreate the world. Kind of like a Noah/flood story. Loved the series and I've been using Shivadance for about 25 years now since my first internet account.

My avatar is from the movie 1984 and is John Hurt smoking in front of a big brother poster. When I joined the forum there was a lot of talk about the changes to the board and mods cracking down on stuff so it seemed to fit. ;) I'm a major sci-fi geek and the 1984 concept has always been one of my favs.

Oh, and I LOVE the Beatles as well. When I was younger Paul was my fav, now it is John.

Go Team Rocket! Sometimes I love the bad guys more.

And despite the avatar and penchant for sci-fi and mens adventure novels I really do belong in the women's room. :)

Don't worry your avatar isn't fooling anyone lol. I'm a major sci-fi geek too, and almost as much into fantasy novels. I'll dabble very occasionally into romances, but they are a bit too much of a stretch of the imagination for me, no believability. I like mysteries and crime\detective novels very much too.

Yeah, it's funny that sci-fi and fantasy are more believable than a romance novel!!!

Nice to meet you shivadance! :D I love all the Beatles and it's hard to not love them all equally... but I'm a Paul fan. Named my kitty Macca after him. :)

You too, Beatle! Paul was my first big concert in a stadium. Sigh. It was great! I looked up to him and Linda because I had just became a vegetarian a year or so before his concert. I just thought he was the coolest! I mean, he's still cool. But now I see other people too. ;)

My husband has every Remo book out there! I loved the movie. Joel Grey as Chun? was great!
Shiva your posts have always been interesting and never masculine. You are right where you belong!:D

No way, that's so cool! Joel Grey was awesome. I really like Fred Ward but he was just not Remo for me. But hey, once you read almost 100 books on the guy, no way a movie is gonna be good enough. The movies almost never are.

Thanks for making me welcome here!

My name isn't very original. I have used this as my in game name for years because its short, easy to remember, and easy for someone to send you a tell. I very much like playing mmorpg's.. I've played Everquest 2, World of Warcraft, Vanguard, Lord of the Rings Online to name a few. I have many in game names but this one sort of stuck.

Ursa, latin for "bear," has been a nick name of mine for maybe a decade. Bears are my totem animal. That avatar is me when I experimented with blond highlights. They didn't last and I'm back to my auburn hair already.

To comment on some above posts:
I'm a huge sci-fi/fantasy fan and agree that it's far more believable than typical romance-fantasy.
