How did you find your way to ECF

I kept typing questions about e-cigs in the google search bar. I would type in just e-cig or whatever and almost every page led to this forum and every page that did lead to here led me to some good advice, then I bought my e-cig and since I'm someone that gets addicted to forums I decided to sign up. Now my girlfriend tells me I need a break from the forum. It's almost like I look at nothing else online, although I still look up guitar tabs and still do my 3d stuff, but that's been kind of pushed to the side for the past month because of this forum addiction, I think it's worse than a cigarette addiction lol.

I get the United Pro Choice Smokers' Rights Newsletter. Crown 7 was highlighted when it first came out and offered a discount to Smokers' Club members. I couldn't find out much about it back then and wasn't convinced. Every now and then since I considered e-cigs. This Spring I guess I was finally ready to take the leap. One day I saved the newsletter as a reminder to look into it again. This time when I Googled e-cigarette there were tons of sites, including the forum. I lurked for a couple of weeks, joined and bought my first kit.

Kind of long story. I first read about the ecig about a year ago in a news article. This was at a time when it seemed like everything coming out of China was deadly and there was no way I was going to inhale anything that came out of China. SO I just dismissed it and went on smoking.

I have a heart problem that we haven't figured out yet and a lung problem we have figured out but haven't treated as of yet. My best friend mentioned the ecig to me, gave me a few links, one of which is Parked doing a review of the Dura C on here. I really wasn't interested in inhaling anything from China until my friend pointed out that it couldn't be any worse than what I was inhaling from a cigarette. I spent the next week just reading while I waited for my doc appt so I could ask him about it and see what he thought. I did a lot of reading on here and checking links that people posted and decided I might as well give it a try.

Thanks everyone for all the great advice you give and all the help you supply to everyone that comes here!

My brother purchased an e cig at the mall from SE (on impulse), so he initially introduced me to the concept.

However, after leaving the mall, he came home and did some research on the web. He was ...... that he paid so much. He told me to go to thesmokelessshop.com to purchase at a reasonable price.
I did - and on Katy's site there is a link to this forum.

The rest is all history and a big credit card statement each and every month!

I saw a news story from Canada about an e-cigarette with a reporter following a vaper on the street and into bars. It was about the legality of the e-cig and the strict no smoking policy. Reaction was mostly positive. It was the SmokeStik. I went to their website and watched Dusty's review which led me to his website. There was talk of "the big website being down. After a few days of perusing (Sunvaporer was just made a mod there) I came to know what the big website was as it came back online. I noticed the modder's forum and I was drawn in for good.

Hi Mary Kay :) - Yes, it's time I was asleep

Like Spike, I discovered e-cigs on the UK eBay Q&A. I go in there quite often to keep up with the prevailing scams and pick up tips. It was last October, I noticed a thread called something like "What do you know about electronic cigs?" and I thought "Whaaaa???" and dove in. To my amazement quite a few people had responded saying what they were and how great they were and I'll never forget it - I am the most negative person in the whole world, but I was filled with HOPE and I thought "I can do that!". It took me a week or two but I got my 901s and replaced about 250 rollies with 22 in the first 6 days, and haven't had a shred of baccy since. 50 years an incorrigible smoker 8-o It is a MIRACLE.

Then Chrissie, who was quite a seasoned e-cigger, set up an eBay Group for us, we were just a few and now there are 476 members (not that they all call in, there are some fallen by the wayside of course, but a hard core of us try to ensure that newbies never wait long to be greeted and helped). Keef and Chrissie talked about ECF and I came here but I couldn't get on with it because all the threads were laid out so unfamiliarly - then when Toby emailed me about the Janty Stick I made another effort and someone said about changing preferences in User CP, phew! I haven't looked back, it's especially wonderful having Americans awake at the same time as I am :)
