I've had atties last a long time by just blowing them out daily, though I had to eventually dry burn the gunked up coils.

These days though I follow a cleaning schedule. Every few days, after blowing out, I soak in alcohol for a few hours, blow out well, add plain vg and store in a small ziplock until I use that one again. I keep a few atties in rotation. Blow it out before use and good to go. Just as important is to try to always keep your coils wet and add more drops before dry hits.
