I have a few ARO bottom coil tanks. Should I clean the tank each time I switch juices? If so, can I clean the bottom coil? I tried to clean the tank before I switched liquids the other day and ended up ruining the coil and had to buy a new one. Even after cleaning it, I could still taste the previous liquid, faintly.
I am slightly at a loss and I am questioning if I should have a different tank for each liquid (I don't want to do that). I just don't want my tobacco flavored liquid to taste like coconut.

Thanks.

A few ways to do this, so I'll just tell you what I used to do for my BCC E-vods.

1. Vape until you're just about out of juice in your tank. You'll obviously notice because you will be able to see the juice level deplete until there is nothing left. There should still be some saturated in the wick and maybe a tiny bit left in the tank, but otherwise it should be close to gone.

2. Turn on your sink as hot as you can, and soak the tank part in and out. Air dry by waving it out.

3. Get your hands on any plain vodka that is 80 proof or higher.

4. Put some vodka down into the tank, put your finger over, shake, then empty into sink. The vodka does a good job of eliminating any smell/taste/funk left from prior juices, and it also evaporates.

5. Leave your tank out for a few hours. Re-inspect to make sure no liquid vodka is left, re-fill with new juice.

6. Enjoy.

You might want to wash the actual atomizer under the sink for a second too to get the residual juice off of it. Otherwise, you should still taste the old juice for a little since it's still saturated in your wick, and that is what the coil is vaporizing. After a few puffs you should be good to go on your new flavor.

is it necessary to use vodka

Nope.

If your coil is not too badly gunked up, just rinse it with hot water. You can also put the coil heads in a small microwaveable bowl, cover (at least 1.5-1") with distilled (or tap) water and nuke for 4-5 minutes on high. Just make sure that the coil(s) is fully submerged. You don't want fireworks in your microwave.

You can also soak your coils in denture/retainer cleaning solution--works great.

I wash my tanks with water--nothing else--and let them dry.

And even if there's a bit of lingering flavor on your coil, it will go away. Don't worry about it!

1: clean tank each time ? ---- nope
2: clean bottom coil? yes; after a few days you should probably dryburn the coil. Don't throw away the coils; you might rebuild them later.
3: different tanks for different liquids? Yep;

I have lots of clean tanks I could just put in a fresh liquid if I wanted to.

As edyle said, get in the swing of cleaning your tanks out and having them fresh and prepared just in case. (especially if you have more than 1). It's a good practice to sit down maybe once or twice a week and do an hour of maintenance.

I haven't used my E-vod clearos for over a week now that I have a more advanced device that can't really use them, but I would rebuild my atty heads which would take maybe an hour to re-do 4 or 5 of them. I personally think it's fun maintaining vape gear ;)
