I posted these questions in the Janty sub-forum, but no answer in a few days. :/

So I bought a Janty XL Jet system (like eGo-tank/Tornado/ect).

What should I know to make my attys last?

I read that you blow it out every night, and stand up to dry. Does it matter from what end you blow?

I also read that using a solvent is the best way to clean an atty, but would this ruin the rubber/paint finish? Is flushing with water good enough? How often should I clean if not switching flavor juice? Once a week good?

Do you let it set for a day to dry? Or does turning the atty on to "burn it dry" actually work. I thought that was a bad thing???

Thanks in advance for answering all my newb questions. :2cool:

To help prevent damaging an atty, pay attention to how warm/hot it is. If it's getting abnormally hot then it probably isn't getting enough liquid so fix that.

Water conducts electricity so you probably don't want it wet inside when you start using it. Shake it out well, blow out out (I don't know which end - I use 306 on my 510 so I blow into the base rather than stick my mouth on the external bridge). It's probably no possible to tell if there is water where the coil is. I'll let someone else answer about how dry it need to be. I alternate attys. you should have extra attys anyway. I always have 3 attys - 2 I alternate (using one while washing and air drying the other) and I swap them about weekly. The 3rd is a total spare.

I just boil some distilled water in the microwave (not super hot just to the point it starts to boil). I the blow from the battery end to get some of the excess juice out (I don't blow to hard I don't want to dislodge the wick any). I then put the atomizer in the hot water and shake it around the let it sit some then shake and sit. I do this about 3 or 4 times. I then dump that water and do it all again.

After I'm done this I shake the atomizer like a thermometer a few time and then set it on a paper towel over night.

I do this about once a week.

Thank you all for the help, just a few more. :)

I just asked about this yesterday in another forum and a helpful member posted this link:

YouTube - eGo-T Atomizer Cleaning Demo....

The thing about that, is sometimes the nice black rubbery finish can come off using iso-alcohol. Plus, I don't have a drafty area to keep the attys while drying, thats out of my kids reach.

I'm particulary interested in how Janty says to dry, if any one has tried to burn the water out? They say after rinsing with water, to conect the battery, and turn it on for a few seconds at a time. This doesn't sound like a very good idea to me, but I am a newb. So I was wondering if anyone else had tried this method of drying.

Also, when they get LR attys, can you clean them in the same way? Does it matter if they're normal or LR?

I would usually just leave it next to my laptop overnite after cleaning soaking and blowing out the excess water. The next day i would do a dry burn on it. I did this the other day, I use a hair dryer to get it dry a bit, then did a dry burn on it.

For the LR i think you can clean them the same way. If you gonna dry burn those, you just have to be more careful not to fried it.
