How do I determine what size battery I have?

All batteries, whether proprietary or not, should give you the capacity (mAh) on the site where they were purchased. If you got a sub-par kit then it might be tough, if not impossible, to tell without a multimeter.

Well, herein lies the problem. Without naming the vendor, (I've emailed them asking for an explanation) I ordered an Ego-T Tank kit last week. The reason I ordered it was because the website listed the kit as having two 1300mAh batteries. This was also listed on the invoice that shipped with the kit. Yet when after opening the kit, the manufacturers literature clearly states that this kit comes with two 650mAh batteries. The picture on their pamphlet is the same one as seen on the vendors website.

So, I wanted to find an independent way to verify the size of the batteries to see if I got what I paid for.

If the overall length of the battery with the atomizer removed is less than 3.5" it is less than 1000mAh of it is closer to 4.5" it is 1000mAh or more.

If you are correct in your estimation....I got screwed :(

Just let your vendor know they shipped you the wrong kit.

I did just that this morning before they opened. I based it solely on the fact that the manual with the kit stated 650. Now it appears I have at least figured out (with the help of the members at ECF) that I did not get what was promised. It's only been 1 business day. Hope to hear something tomorrow.

Good luck Gerald. If your vendor is one that is registered here on ECF (there is a list of registered vendors at the bottom of the main forum page), you should have no problem in getting this resolved. All the registered vendors here seem to have excellent customer service. Let us know how this turns out.

Thank you TC, I will definitely let you all know how I make out. Unfortunately, the vendor is not one of the ones registered with the forum but I did choose them due to some positive posts about them and their customer service here on ECF. I'm going to give them the full benefit of doubt on this one and hopefully they make it right.

If they fix this issue, I will gladly trumpet their efforts to satisfy their customers and make their name known.

Just got a reply from the vendor.....I'm being told that the 1300's are the same size length-wise as a 650 but fatter.....can anyone verify this? I sent them the picture I posted above and told them that I honestly cannot tell them if its fatter since I have never held a 650 nor a 1300 as I am new to the whole "vaping scene" :)

Any help appreciated.

It's possible, depending on the brand.
My 1300mah eGo brand batteries are longer than my 650mah eGo brand batteries...same diameter.

Other brands could do it a little differently I suppose. It's also been several months since I purchased any...and they do make changes/updates from time to time.

well, how long does the battery last you between charges. A 650 mah battery will last a pretty heavy vaper about 6-8 hours, a 1300 mah batt will last considerably longer - perhaps twice as long. If I knew how much liquid you use per day (average is 3ml) and how long the freshly charged batt lasts until it starts blinking then I'd have a better idea if you have a 650 or a 1300.

Here are the specs on the genuine Joye batteries:

650 mAh Size:
*Length: 71mm or 2 and 3/4 inches
*Diameter: 14mm

900 mAh Size:
*Length:86mm or 3 and 3/8 inches
*Diameter: 14mm

1000mAh Size:
*Length:96mm or 3.78 inches
*Diameter: 14mm

Your length is about the same as the 900mAh, but your diameter looks to be much larger. The 900mAh batteries are the same diameter as the atomizer.

Since your battery looks like it is larger than your atomizer, you definitely have more than 900mAh.

I've heard the 1300's are quite long.

Ahhh I have a Riva 510 charger at work now (yum fully charged) - my 750mah Riva 510 (Ego clone) is about 7.4cm long (its entire length w/ nothing attached)

Hmmm - this shows supposed Ego-T batteries and the 1100 is longer and no fatter but the 1300 is shorter than 1100 but fatter. Maybe this is how normal Ego batteries are too?

I have not found a similar picture for standard Ego batteries (which don't have the 5 presses enable/disable switch)

All the eGos that I have handled have been 3.5" up to 900mAh and 4.5" for those that are over 1000mAh but the picture you posted is certainly a larger diameter than I am used to seeing. The standard eGos I have seen are about 14mm or slightly larger than 1/2" diameter that one is clearly a much larger diameter.

I am pretty sure you have gotten what you paid for. As for the manual, the little pamphlet they put in eGo kits has not changed at all since they started making eGos it is not even different if you get a passthrough model.

I posted in your other thread, didn't realize there were two threads- contact another vendor that carries the 1300 and ask them for the measurements of their 1300.

I have gotten bad pamphlets. I got a pamphlet that was so bad for a recent pv that I was unable to use the charge case and the vendor was away. Purchased the kit for my nephew for a trip and he was unable to use it. Throw the pamphlet away if it's wrong.

If it's the size of a 650 and the pamphlet says it's a 650, I'd think it was a 650. Looks like a duck, quacks like a duck...

But I'd get in touch with a vendor and ask them if they could give you measurements.
