I really need some guidance from some "mathable" folks here. (yes, I know I made a new word!)

After several weeks of testing my flavorings, almost all of them taste yummy to me ..... at 5%. So it's no wonder almost everything I make from the forum recipes tastes like crap to me.

But now I'm lost-how in the heck do I convert the recipes I find here, so that the flavoring total is 5%?

For instance, I want to try this recipe:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-liquid-recipes/215543-debs-belgium-waffles.html

5 MLS OF YOUR MIX & NIC

BELGIAN WAFFLE..8% OR ...8 DROPS ...(SPELLED WRONG ABOVE)..LOL
BUTTER..................3% ...3 DROPS
WHIPPED CREAM...4% ...4 DROPS

So Deb is using 15% flavoring. How in the heck do I divide her percentages by 1/3 to in order to get 5% total flavoring?

I know how to use ejuicmeup when people post their recipes in parts-but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to convert these percentages.

I think I can do it the long hand way: 8/1 X 1/3 which would give me 2.7% for waffle, 1% for butter, and 1.3% for whipped cream. (Is this correct? I think it is)

But is there an easier way to do this? Can the conversion be done with ejuicemeup somehow?

This is correct. And probably, at least IMO, the easiest way. Now just plug in your new numbers to ejuice me up.

ETA: But I like the way deluxe suggested it. Probably a more practical way of implementing it.

can you explain your formula (8/1 X 1/3 )? I'm trying to follow your math here for my own education and i'm not sure what's what.

What Spaz said up there^^^^

I just did it pencil and paper math cause I'm not good at it so I had to think...follow me here...LOL
Ok I have to multiply if I want to divide by 1/3
I have to make 8 a fraction
So 8 becomes 8/1
and then multiply by 1/3
so 8/1 X 1/3
then when I finally get 8/3 I can put it into the calculator to get 2.7

See what I mean about stinking at math?

Which is why I would really love it if I could just make ejuicemeup do it instead of having to do it myself! LOL

I would do like was suggested and go ahead and make a 5mL batch just like the recipe says. Then put 1/3 of that in another bottle with 2/3rds of your base. You're not working with that large of an amount and you may not get a good representation of the mix by dividing the recipe by 3. It's hard to get that small of an amount for each flavor and have it come out to taste the same as the original recipe. Doing it this way would allow you to increase the % of flavor easier too.

I agree, mix it per recipe then dilute it to suit your taste.
