How do you build your coils?

Just completed my first rebuild, on a PTII though. 28ga wire 7/6 wraps came to 1.0 ohms. Pulled some q tip cotton though. Kinda crappy looking coils but now I can say that I have done it!

^ kinda interested in how that works out. Ive been saving my protank heads as they burn out so that I can rebuild them. I really dislike the smaller gauge kanthal. And I'm not sure about wicking them with cotton due to durability, and how not easy they are to rebuild compared to just threading new wick in like basically any rda.
