That is what I want to know, HOW IN THE HELL do you feed wick through the coil???? I can handle the coiling part just not feeding wick through one
Using cotton or bamboo you'd be surprised just how small you can make a puffy piece of cotton yarn. You've seen the octopus rda? I make multiple wicks(four is the most I've done at once yet) just by wetting a piece of yarn, twisting it
tight, and holding pressure, then setting it aside. Repeat, however many you want to include, then twist all of
those together into one.
Same deal, twist the multiple, hold pressure, set.
When you are ready to thread it through the coil take your iris scissors and snip the wild "hair-diameter" thing that occurs at the very tip, then thread. Just keep pressure on the twisted wad and 'drill' it into the coil.
I have some pictures, if I can find 'em I will post 'em.
Mostly, though it's just practice and patience.
A lot of patience. Just remember, eventually you
will achieve what you seek if you just freaking keep bangin away at it and don't give up.
Nice build dude
Here's a handy trick I found to get the cotton thru:
I use that 14ga luer lock blunt tip needle as a mold to wrap my coil around, leave the coil on it, mount the coil on the atty, using the needle to position the coil in the optimum location, then thread the point of the cotton into the needle, slide the needle out taking the wick with it. Then pull the wick into its final position, trim, wet and vape like a rock star.
Now 14ga ain't exactly a micro coil, but its a damn sweet size for a simple, awesome noob and vet friendly vape.
That is abso-freaking-lutely IT! Wow. Brilliant. You get the award for innovation, like to see someone top that idea
You guys using regular ol' cotton? Like from a cotton ball? I've been vaping standard 306 atties... filled with Nichrome + silica. I LOVE them. Got my first Genny up and running (ihybrid), my first three RDAs arrived today, havent had a chance to play with them (Smoktech, igo-l, phoenix). Is this cotton/kanthal combo really where its at?
Get a skein of 100% cotton (make sure it's 100% cotton) at a craft store for about 3 bucks. Think it's 200 or 300 feet. Boil it for about ten minutes, dump the water off making sure the impurities which are on top don't re-pollute the yarn. Tie it around a dish rag and throw it in the dryer "air" setting and you're good to go.
It is my regular, SOP for wicks.
Bamboo is getting my attention, now, though. It doesn't fry as readily as cotton and it seems to taste cleaner.
