How do you know when to swap batteries on you REO?

I just received my multimeter yesterday. It was very helpful to pull out a battery and check it after charging. I also started checking them after vaping for awhile. I was surprised to see how low I had let them get before changing. Now I hope I will be more careful and notice the difference soon enough to get them out and to the charger.
