Hello all,

I just received the Igo-L from steam monkey, I did a 1.3 ohm coil with cotton wick and I love it. Steam Monkey incluce some SS mesh for me to try and I would like to know how should I set it up? Torch the mesh, roll, torch again for oxidize then put on the coil? The way I see it the wick will touch the bottom metal of the rba, will this cause short? How should I do it to prevent short to the rba?

Thank you so much in advance for your help and tips,
Andy

Lately, all I use on the iGO is ss mesh. Oxidize the mesh as you would for any rba, then wrap the coil.
I imagine your using it on a mech mod with lows ohms like that, so you could try "pulse" oxidizing the wick.
Here is a thread on the iGO regarding the mesh http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...systems/397394-igo-l-inconsistent-flavor.html

If your using liquid with more PG, then I advise increasing the width of the mesh, not the diameter of the wick, meaning use the same size coil with a denser wick to prevent "dry hits". [You could also increase the diameter of the wick, I only had a 2mm drill bit]
I believe this is similar to the "Petar K Method". If you can find the thread, post it for reference.

BTW Anyone looking for mesh, Steam Monkey has awesome prices.

Would running mesh in an iGo make it simpler to switch flavors by dry burning the wicks until the mesh is dry?

Thinking of an iGo-W with mesh would be good for the juices I like to "snack" on and keep my Kayfun for my ADV juice.

Imo, it's much easier to change out a cotton wick than anything else.
Takes about a minute.

I would think dry burning on the ss wick would gunk it up pretty bad and would taste burnt afterwards.
At least that has been my experience with my agat2

I like to make a single double length SS wick using 400 mesh and 3mm silica. I wrap a coil on each end of the wick and then cut the wick in half using a nail clipper.

To make the wick, I cut a rectangle of mesh out that is the same length as the silica, and maybe a half inch or so wide. I wrap the mesh around the silica like a burrito, fairly tight. I torch it, put some vape liquid on the wick, and light it on fire to oxidize the inner parts of the stainless steel and torch again. This will prevent it from shorting.

Attach the coil(s) as you normally would.
