I am the happy owner of a new Micro Stick with a Mini Gen atomizer. I have NO IDEA how to coil this thing. I have some kanthal but all the youtubes I have found are people using stainless braid and stuff like that. I really want to try this thing out but I need to know how to set up the atomizer. Anyone?

Thanks

New toy and waiting to INHALE

I do not have stainless mesh. I have some 28 ga wire and I have some silicon wick or cotton. Can this e used with a regular type wick? It's apparently a genesis mini as a platform for this:

MiniGen Ti - Mini ECIG

From all available info's it looks like I need to make a wick of stainless mesh, treat it so it won't short out, then wrap it with the wire to my ohmage, and then fiddle with it until it's working right.......and then......

wow..I was just getting a handle on regular cotton wick single coil setups

Let me know what you know. Thank you for responding.

Steel mesh will work the best (IMO) but I've used cotton with good results too in an RSST. Make a coil, any kind you like, attach it to the deck. Test the Ohms and dry fire. Take some cotton and twist it tight so it feeds down through the coil into the hole in the deck until it reaches the bottom (or just about). Try and get it so the cotton is snug in the coil but only half fills the hole in the deck. Trust me you want the hole to only be half filled so the juice isn't choked off. I clip the cotton about a half inch above the coil and fold it over to the back side of the coil.

It will work ok and require lots of tipping so the wick is saturated good. Honestly in a setup like the microstick (I'm so jealous! ) steel mesh once setup is less fiddly, more reliable and better flavor. YMMV.

Here's what my RSST looks like with mesh:

there are quite a few YouTube videos on how to setup mesh.

awesome....

Ok I will try that idea, using the silicon rope wick, which looks right size and see how it goes. I guess I need to order me some mesh, any recommendations on what to order? Thanks so much for your help, I got this from the company and there is no instructions. I think they think I know what I am doing......hahaha. Just like at work :)

Fake it till you vape it or something.

Appreciate the help

OK,

My hand therapist will e so happy, and I can report success.

I put a coil of around 6 turns on it. Measured out at 1.1 ohms. I was ale to wrestle a silicon rope wick into there really deep like. I then attempted to fill the tank, which requires a tiny screw (magnetic would e helpful) to e removed and replaced. I would have needed a injector to actually fill it up correctly so I patiently gurgled the juice in. I tested it and good vapor. I put the cap on, took a couple of very nice hit off it and realized I had a tiny screw I forgot to put ack in. The testing was done on my MVP. I took the cap off and replaced the screw. I was going to post a pic of the actual unit with the coil setup, ut its so small you can't put it in without the cap :)

So I took a nice couple of vapes off the assembled product, and it was good. I made sure to keep it wet and after less than what I would call a half a session (or cig) it was so hot I couldn't continue.

With a proper wick, I am sure it could e good. With a delrin tip or something to keep you from urning you mouth, I think it could e good. With a cry of indignation, I will put this puppy up for sale. I am sure someone else has time for this nonsense.

REO- 2.1, everyone else - 0

Sorry donkey people. It's a really nice idea and it's not practical for normal hominids.

Very. Disappointed.

Fuhhhhhh

the letter that comes after A on my keyboard only works in spellcheck.

OK, Well to be fair I took the mini-gen genesis atomizer to a reputable vape shop in Austin TX, where they did properly install a stainless mesh wick, coiled it and also informed me that the second screw in the atomizer is to be removed so that there is some inlet air to let the drip get to the wick (duh?). The ministick is pretty much working like a champ now and I am going to give it a good couple weeks to a month before jumping to more conclusions. My apologies for bashing the thing right off the bat when I really didn't have it setup correctly.

Peace
