Hi all,

I know this may sound silly, but how do you smoke these things? Like a regular cigarette where, on a manual battery, you press the button and inhale into your mouth, then suck that into your lungs and exhale immediately? Or inhales straight into the lungs, where you would press the button and suck directly into the lungs and hold it for maximum effect?

Edit: I guess I should clarify. One I want to maximize my juice to save costs, and two, I eventually want to quit smoking e-cigs. So what I don't want to do is get myself more addicted to nicotine. I've started out with the 24 strength juice and was (that's cool! was!) a 2 pack a day smoker, if not a bit more. I don't want to increase my addiction to nicotine, yet at the same time I need enough to keep me from going back to analogs.

Thanks!
Blackie

Welcome!

There's no one way to vape. Most recommend that you take a long, slow, steady draw into your mouth. Hold for a few seconds, then inhale. Exhaling through your nose is good to get more flavor.

But a lot of people inhale directly into their lungs. See what works for you.

Most of the nicotine is absorbed from the membranes in your mouth/nose, if that helps. Holding it in your lungs won't do much other than decrease the amount of vapor when you exhale. Which can be good if you're trying to stealth vape!

Usually take into the mouth first, then inhale into the lungs. Some liquids can be very harsh to inhale directly to the lungs. I have a cigalike that does'nt give a very good hit, and with that, I would have to do a direct lung hit to get anything out of it, but generally I'm a mouth firster. Ultimately it's whatever floats your boat though.

Hi all,

I know this may sound silly, but how do you smoke these things? Like a regular cigarette where, on a manual battery, you press the button and inhale into your mouth, then suck that into your lungs and exhale immediately? Or like a joint, where you would press the button and suck directly into the lungs and hold it for maximum effect? Sorry for those not 4:20 friendly, it's the only way I know to describe my question.

Edit: I guess I should clarify. One I want to maximize my juice to save costs, and two, I eventually want to quit smoking e-cigs. So what I don't want to do is get myself more addicted to nicotine. In my opinion, nicotine is the thing in cigarettes you should be the least concerned with. My goal was to quit analogs in any way I could. If that meant vaping my face off, fine. Once I got off the analogs, cutting down the nicotine was easy. I'm down to 6mg and haven't noticed a difference.

My advice would be to vape as much/at whatever nic level keeps you satisfied. After you quit analogs, then worry about the nicotine.

As well as the stated reasons in my (edited) post, yes I want to stealth vape as well :) It's cold as all get out up here and being able to use the men's room at a restaurant instead of going outside is of immense value to me. I honestly don't believe I'd be hurting anyone anyway but I can see that's quite a contentious subject pushed and pulled by forces way greater than me. I will, however, join the fight!

Thanks,
Blackie

The freedom to vape just about anywhere is a real perk. Even when I'm stealth vaping, I can still do it a million more places than with analogs!

I'll add, we don't smoke them, we vape them.:2cool:

Very good point! And I know why (politics, idiocracy and all that) Aside from that I'm currently going through a divorce and a bitter 3 way custody battle between me, mother and my child's mother's mother. My smoking has been an attack point for them. I'm going to eliminate that......

It should make a difference that you don't smoke, but it seems all the powers that be seem to like to consider vaping the same as smoking. Hopefully not in your case.

Hopefully not. And thank you for your sentiment. In my opinion, as uneducated as it may be, vaping is not good for me, but certainly is better than smoking. And that includes those around me. But I've seen this, as have many if not all of you, argued to be not true. I read an opinion piece on cnn.com the other day from someone associated with the American Lung Association and I was appalled at the lack of facts and baseless accusations. Not one iota of evidence, studies, etc. Just "Think of the children" crap, which I thought died out once we had "We have to get the terrorists", whoever they are.... I'm still a pariah.

Edit: I'm as guilty as the rest. As pointed out above, read the title of my post. Personally it's semantics to me. But politicians love to make a living on semantics....

It depends on what you mean.

Ones that look like real cigarettes you screw the battery pack onto the part that contains the juice or nicotine substance then just hit it.

Ones that look like a metal pipe and have a mouth piece on (being as new person friendly as possible with my terminology), you press a button after connecting the battery to the tank (there are multiple ways but this is common) and puff away
...............
Now for how you inhale there are 2 ways.

Normal: You just inhale like a cigarette and blow out like a cigarette. The throat hits are there but they feel much different.

Stealth: You inhale like a cigarette and hold it in like a .... hit for a long time. The vape you exhale barely appears because the vapor soaked into your lungs and dissipate. Which is why this is used in public most of the time.

Hope this helped :D

I'd say ya just do whatever feels comfortable to you.;) I like to roll it around in my mouth then inhale it, but sometimes i just need that quick inhale straight to the lungs. Whatever floats your boat.

Oh, and by the way, Just a warning. The Moderators frown on Drug referrences, you could get banned. No offense or anything just an ECF rule.:vapor:

You might want to edit your post before a Mod comes along. Referring to illegal substances is against the rules... just say "unmentionable substance" instead of the "J" word that might be picked up by scanners. Might sound picky but its not.... protects the forum.

Most of the nic is absorbed in the mouth and/or nose so inhaling isn't even necessary. And, btw, its "vape" not "smoke."

Welcome to ECF, congratulations on taking the plunge and have fun learning about this new healthier world you've chosen.
