I am a pretty dedicated carto-tank and CE2 user, but I'm at a loss when testing out new flavors.

I don't keep atties around, I stopped using those when I stopped using carts. But lately I've been trying to branch out and order some new flavors, and I don't want to waste a carto on a flavor I'm going to hate...

MY ACTUAL QUESTION: How do YOU test out new flavors? :?:

Some have told me that bridgeless atties are the best bet, because they are easier to clean. Somebody even told me that he uses a CE2 with no plugs, direct drips on to the coil, and then cuts off that piece of the wick to test out the next flavor...

What's your technique?

I use a broken in atty (one that I know & trust), just for testing new flavors. After test/taste vape a diluted unflavored VG then taste/test again with different flavor. When done testing/tasting - rinse out, let air dry; then put it back in its home.

Not foolproof by any means but gives me some sort of baseline prior to filling a carto.

If I'm tasting a bunch of different new flavors, I'll have a bunch of squeaky-clean old attys screwed into a fistful of batteries, plus an ultrasonic cleaner with isopropyl alcohol. When I'm done tasting and making notes, I unscrew the attys and chuck them in the ultrasonic cleaner. After several cycles, I pull the attys, blow them out from the battery end, and put them on a paper towel to dry for about a week. Once they're thoroughly dry, they go back in the "used attys" drawer.
