How does the AGA-T2 perform with the Provari?

Hello, I was thinking about getting an AGA-T2 to use on my Provari. With all the vibe about issues with the AGA-T2 having flooding and air delivery problems not necessarily to any battery device, I wanted to check with folks that have actually used it with the Provari. I would also like to know of any issues whatsoever that you may want to include as far as vapor production, coil performance, leaking, necessity for 510 extender and how the AGA-T2 looks on the Provari. I have to say... I have not personally seen the AGA-T2 in person and I just want to be able to make an informed purchase that will allow me to have a hassle free experience. Thank you in advance for your help and vape Happy!! TOM

Tommy Aces nailed it. The AGA's will work as well as the coil and wick you build. The Provari is just a "battery holder" after all. :p

I often share the story that when I decided to get into RBAs, my intention was to put it on my Silver Bullet. After all, its seemed EVERYONE was putting them on mechanical APVs. So, I did my homework and decided to purchase the AGA-T2. I used my Provari as my coil tester (I have and know how to use a multimeter. I even bought a new one with my AGA, but the Provari does everything I need to know and I have yet to use the new multimeter.)

Long story short, the AGA is fine on the Silver Bullet. But you know what? I like it better on a Provari. Unlike on the Silver Bullet, I can adjust my vape depending upon my mood with it on the Provari. I can easily check for change in coil resistance on the fly. The Provari can give me an error code to help me work out hot spots. It allows me to incremental pulse fires to do the final oxidation of the finished coil. And most important, the vaping experience is better on the Provari's than on the Silver Bullet.

Mechanical mod users and RBA users will counter that the only way you can get optimum performance on an RBA is with ULR (ultra low resistance vaping, or sub ohm vaping). No, that's not true (at least from my experience, and my opinion is the only one that matters if I'm the one vaping it). I'm not a proponent of ULR coils because of potential safety issues. I prefer a cooler vape, hense why I build 2.0 ohm coils. And I still like having the option to change my voltage used for the specific flavor I'm using...or my mood.

I've had some minor issues with the connector on one of my AGAs and Provari's not liking each other. The issue is a fixable one. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/provari/434727-strange-incident.html But I don't see a need for any kind of adaptor.

From what I know, all RBAs will leak if you leave them on their side; it the nature of the beast. No issues with leaking if kept upright. They will leak less if you leave the juice fill screw on, but I find leaving it out improves the draw. I did enlarge the air hole in one of the AGA's caps which improved the draw, and I will at some point enlarge the one on my second AGA. It's not a huge issue.

I don't find these to be a convenient carry about delivery device, so they are left at home for my enjoyment, and I use either my cartotanks or VMod bottom feeder for out & about.

I've also written a sort of "guide" or information resource for new or potential RBA users here in my blog: E-Cigarette Forum - Baditude - Blogs

Thank you Baditude ... I certainly appreciate and respect the effort along with the amount of detail that you provide when delivering advice to a fellow vaper. You drove directly to the point and have clarified each and every concern that I have. Thanks again,

Pardon the double post but.... I would also agree that ULR or SUB OHM coils are not for me either. All I see there is the potential of the coil to come to peak heat a lot sooner... sure may be able to get hotter hits but on the other side.. If your wick or carto batting has not been kept wet, then you are in for one heck of a dry hit , hot spots would be more of an issue, and I would think that the lifespan of your coil would also be affected because of the propensity to be excessively overheated. Just my thoughts!!

If you are new to RBA's you might want to check out these threads also:

Different Cottons for different wicks

and

Wire Rope for Wick

Setting up a genisys type RBA (the aga is this type) can be challenging at first with the standard SS wick and can discourage many from using it out of frustration. getting it going with any combination of the above methods is considerably easier, and after you get comfortable/hooked on it, then you experiment and try the original SS wick.

just my :2c: worth :)
