How does the "Permalink" button work?

I have been reading about four dozen different and fascinating threads here, learning a lot, and often click the "permalink" button in the hopes of continuing as more posts are made.

But I can't figure out how it works. There are so many threads, it's rare that I can find the same one.

What am I doing wrong? How does the permalink work?

After all this time, I found the 'subscribe to this page' button.

Duh...

you could also automaticly subscribe to ones that you reply to buy going to your user CP

look in the message and notification section you will see the option... even have emails sent to you...

and everytime you go to user CP you will see the threads that you subcribed to pop up everytime a new message appears
