How does your replacement policy work

I received a new eGo T battery the other day. Not sure why it was a T but apart from that it's faulty.
The light doesn't work and as soon as I put a carto on it it's activated without hitting the switch.
It won't shut off.

I left a message at the website but didn't hear back.

I'm really getting tired of all the inferior quality accessories.
If it's not one thing it's something else.
This is NOT directed at smoktek. This is an industry wide issue.

Hi Charlie, I hear ya, we deal with this all the time and it's a struggle sometimes to consistently get quality product. We try very hard, but can't check every item personally so occasionally something defective gets out there. We always honor defective product and replace it though, I'm sure you've been taken care of by now. If not, please do let me know. Thanks

Well, I have not heard anything other than I was told to mail it back.
So, I take it that I must pay shipping for a product that you sold that doesn't work??????
Is that correct?

Don't get me wrong, I understand only too well the difficulties of distributorship's but I cannot accept that I must pay for shipping when I have already done so.

If that is the case then I will return it and would like a credit.
