How far has vaping come since years ago?

Hi Guys,

I used to vape along back in the days when njoy first started selling and Puresmoker first came on the scene. I ultimately got fed up with the short battery life, constant dripping, and failing atomizers after just a couple months use. How far has the e-cigg scene come since then? Has reliability and battery life skyrocketed? Any sorta 'primer' of the new tech that some of you veterans could give me to refresh me?

Thanks

There are a large number of PVs out there that can provide all day battery life.

Atomizers are still considered to be disposable items, but a few innovations should be mentioned - 1) Rebuildable attys: You can get a high performance atty these days and replace the coil whenever you want and clean, repair, or replace the mesh etc. -2) There are some new high performance attys around that can consume hundreds of ml of juice before failing. I personally prefer the hh.357 for longevity and performance, but there are others like the AVA and the i06 are available (I own both of those too... the i06 is great and my luck has been mixed with the AVA but many people report better experience than mine).

Reliability: It depends on the item, but generally speaking yes... and generally speaking no. Homework/reading is required, and you can't necessarily believe everything you read about these things. For the most part, making use of the forums and asking a lot of questions before any major purchase will be helpful. And, for the most part, reading reviews and watching video reviews and then asking questions of people actually using the smaller items (like attys and cartos) is the only way to find out if they're worth buying.

As to "new tech". Well, there's something new almost daily. My advice is to avoid the newest things and let other people guinea pig them. -- All the rage for a while are items like whatever-clearomizer-just-came-out, carto tanks, and any PV that has variable voltage. I don't use any clearomizer or clearomizer-like device for several reasons but lots of people love them. I own a few tanks but use them rarely (again, many, many people love those too and I'm sure with good reason). And Variable Voltage PVs, I only have one bit of advice: Consider all of the features offered and don't focus just on the feature VV.

I hope that helps.

LOL, failing attys after a COUPLE months??? I don't know what you were using but that's pretty good.

My 1000mah eGo-C's last me about 18 hours of pretty dedicated vaping when new, but the attys only last 2-6 weeks depending on the juice. But they're only $5. I'm pretty sure that's quite a bit cheaper than what attys used to be.
Cartos have also been designed to be disposable, cheaper and die fast.

I quit because of my 4072 penstyle always leaking or spitting. The cart not lasting even though it was full so requiring to be dripped.
Some people claim the eGo-C leaks and it can if you don't pay attention to how you're using it. But even when it does leak it's nothing like a penstyle was 3 years ago.

The flavor and the vapor is consistent through the whole eGo-C tank for me. (Something I don't get with cartos.)

I didn't have a problem with 4 batteries 3 years ago but yes they've advanced with affordable variable voltages and all day batteries. Oh yes, and manual switches so you don't have to suck your head off and have juice leak into the auto bat and screw up the switch.

If you're looking for a cigarette-sized model that lasts for hours and hours, it still doesn't exist.
But there are now (finally) some very good options for people who must have cigarette-sized models.

The following are all the same technology, and easily the most recommended...
--Smokeless Image Volt
--Bloog MaxxFusion
--Halo G6

If you're willing to get something the size of a sharpie marker, then you have some great new options to explore.

If you don't like unreliable atomizers, then there are a couple of options...
--Check into some of the high performance custom atomizers
--Check into some of the rebuildable atomizers

You can also check into cartomizers, as an alternative to atomizers, if you are not yet aware of those.
And tanks might also interest you.

But if you really liked dripping, except you thought it was a hassle...
--You could check out the bottom-feeders
--You could check out the top-feeders

Let's just say there are so many more options now that it will make your head spin.
And it's very hard to cover them all in one post.
