In all the health and everything stinking ways but I noticed something cool yesterday. I had not driven anywhere since I stopped smoking, weird. I was vaping with a simple KGO with a blue stardust. I looked at my hand resting on the door just like I did with analogs but I saw this cool device and thought, wow, this thing is classy. no smoke, no ash, no cracked window, and no more habit of tossing butts(can't have them in an ashtray stinking up the car, right?)
I'm bipolar and walked into my therapist office yesterday and said, watch this! LOL He was happy that I made a move in a positive direction. BTW, he just got back from a road trip to go to his father in laws funeral. He died of lung cancer.

The cigarette monkey is finally off my back and Im not constantly seeking an opportunity to light up like a crackhead
That about nails it for me also Jermania.
40+ (almost 45 to be honest) years with that damn monkey riding along.
Good feeling to wake up in the morning and not make grabbing the cig the first thought on my mind.
Good feeling to not go to sleep at night wondering if I should have smoked one more.
Good feeling to ride along in the car with my wife and kids and grandkids now knowing I'm not spreading poison around like I did for a lot of years.
I keep remembering back to when I started.
NO health issues associated with the cigs back then. In fact it was cool. Marlboro Man COOL!
Marlboro Man lighting up and riding out free and easy in Marlboro Country--what a crock of ....!!!
Not so cool to watch friends and family die from a nasty ... habit.
NOT so cool to find out after being hooked that those things will kill you at worst, and destroy your health at best.
Yep--I've decided no more cigs--it will be vaping or nothing from now on.
Doing a little venting here--keep editing to add on.
We are all responsible for our own bad habits--BUT being young and influenced easily does maybe carry along a little excuse for going that route in the first place.

I have fewer breathing problems including asthma, my desk is covered in stuff (PVs, paper towels, steeping juice, basket of cartos, bowl of drip tips...) and I have a shelf covered in bottles. I can sing! My husband also started vaping at the same time- that means I step on (and have to dispose of) carto ends, cartos and toothpicks on the floor and have to hunt down juice bottles that have gone 'missing'. Also have to answer the question "Have you seen my (driptip, PV, cartomiser)?" on a regular basis and find said item.

The joys of married vaping life!

I love vaping. I love the flavor, I love the plume of vapor, I love my pretty PVS, I love the hand to mouth action.... I love it all.

I never loved smoking. At first it was the cool thing to do, I loved the social aspect. It's what we all did. We were part of the club. The my grandmother died, my best friend's grandmother died, my best friend's grandfather got COPD, my mother quit and became the .... nazi, my sister quit, my best friend's aunt, uncle, and mother quit... I could no longer smoke in bars or restaurants, there was no indoor smoking room at work, and ashtrays started to disappear from public places.

My mother asked me once "why do smokers have to throw their butts everywhere in the parking lots and junk up the place?". Well, there's no ashtrays anymore. There used to be an ashtray outside every store. They've gotten rid of most of them altogether. I hated litter and garbage, but I've thrown a few butts because I had nowhere else to put them.

I got asked "Do you have to smoke again? Didn't you JUST smoke?".... No, that was an hour ago, and we're about to go into a restaurant where I have no idea how long it's going to be before we've been served, eaten, paid, and I'm able to smoke again. That was my worst fear, having to be stuck somewhere and not knowing when I could get to a smoke.

My first crappy smoke shop DSE901 kit killed that monkey. Even though there was no way I could maintain changing these little cartridge tips that leaked into my mouth, tasted horrible, and came with batteries that might last an hour, I heard that monkey choke on the vapor. A week later, I had my Smokeless Image Volts.... and the monkey curled up and I clearly heard it's death rattle. I didn't touch a cigarette for 4 months.

Then our Papa passed away. I wasn't prepared. I hadn't ordered cartos, I didn't have enough batteries, and I lit a cigarette. The monkey came back, and he was ....... He demanded I feed him 20-30 times a day.... more than I probably had ever smoked before. I fed the monkey for about 11-12 weeks, and then I killed him again. I stocked up. I have batteries, cartos, juices, backups, and backups for backups. I have an "emergency kit" that I could grab on the way out the door that would get me through 24 hours without having to charge or fill anything. That monkey is staying dead this time.

I don't have to vape before a conference call. I don't have to vape before I walk into a store and as soon as I come out. I love it, don't get me wrong, but I'm not terrified that I'll be stuck without a vape and therefor have to do it at every available opportunity. I also don't HAVE to "finish" my vape. If one cig wasn't enough and I lit a 2nd, I had to finish it. I can vape 1 puff or 100 puffs, and most of the time it's 3-5 and put it down... I'm not sucking it in as fast as I can to feed the monkey.

I get to live longer?

I breathe better, run now every day. Blood pressure returned to normal. Now all I am at risk for is pancreatic cancer. YAY! Yes that's right - vaping can lead to pancreatic cancer. They don't tell you that when they say it's about as dangerous as a caffeine habit. Don't believe me? When the swiss switched to Snus and became almost a smoke free nation pancreatic cancer was on the rise. Also, it's a known problem with the patch and gum. It's great we all quit and stuff but we need to get the nic levels down to 0 as soon as we all can.

Do you have any references for those claims?

Is it just the nicotine that's causing the risk of cancer then?

Well aside from all of the obvious health improvements I'll mention the following:

I feel better than I have in years, not just physically, but mentally as well...feeling quite happy these days!
I make more money at work ( I'm a diver by trade and I don't use nearly as much air since I found vaping)
I'm more socially active, since I'm no longer one of "those smelly smokers"

Truly I feel that vaping has given me a new lease on life, I'm more motivated in general. I'm happy to live life, instead of just sitting around waiting for it to end...I run with my dog, I swim in the sea, I hike on the trails and so on...

As a medic I read LOADS of studies and I have never come across any link to vaping and cancer. Snus, however has been linked to increased risks for pancreatic cancers...along with some other "edible" tobacco products like the dissolvables and so on....This has been thought to be linked to the digestion of said products.

If you have any reference for vaping and pancreatic cancer studies, I would be interested to read them...
