Interested in seeing what tinkering you've done to your device or tank to make it work better for you.

I didn't like the Kayfun being so tall because Height is usually a flavor killer, and didn't like the weight of all the Stainless Steel and pulled the base and barrel out of it and switched to a flat top bell cap. Now my Kayfun is only 30 mm tall not counting 510 and drip tip instead of 60 mm tall as it was.

Now my istick Pico and my Kayfun can lay ob the side in my pocket. Much more pocket friendly.

Well, I did drill out all the air passages on my Evods and PT2s including the positive pins in the coils. Had found plans to increase airflow even further but by then had moved on to the LEMO RTA. After a few months with the LEMO I started to think about taking my drill to it but instead moved on to the ego ONE tank with its rebuildable rewickable DL coil. Can't imagine needing more airflow again, but thought that when I started with the LEMO also. Time will tell.

When I got a SubTank Mini, it didn't work all that well with my High VG e-Liquids. So I Enlarged the e-Liquid inlet slots in the Deck. Works like Charm.

When I got a Wine RTA, there was No Replacement Glass for it. But SubTank Mini glass was the right Diameter. Just a Little Too Short. So I Ground the RBA Chamber down by about .110" with a Dremel. And the Reduced Chamber made the Flavor go from Very Good to Great.

When I got my 1st Squonker and BF RDA, the DripBox 60w, the RDA didn't have a Single Coil Mode. So I cut a Single Coil Air Slot in the Top Cap. And the Squonk was Hard. So I Drilled out the Deck Holes. And the Flavor was kinda weak sauce, so I Shortened the RBA Barrel. And it couldn't take a 510 Drip Tip. So I turned a Adapter out of another RDA cover. Then I bought a NarDa and Never used the Kanger RDA again. LOL.

The List kinda goes On and On and On.

With my Stuff, seems like Not Modifying something is the Exception and Not the Rule.

thanks! i ended up with a red topbox mini kit when hubby and i got ours and he got the black one... i'm not fond of red lol... so that started me doing it. one of these days i'm actually just going to sand that one down completely, clear coat it and maybe leave it like that for a bit... i already did that to several of the top tank minis(the tanks themselves), turns out their black paint is crap but the damned red stays.

When i first got ny orchid, i didnt like the tight draw so i drilled out the airways. Then started having problems with the weight, found out i can use the kayfun 5 chimney and a bellcap. Since then have traded the chimney and cap for a silverplay chimney and a slamcap :)

Then moved onto the tube rta. Using same chimney and slam cap, only mods done were grinding extra space for juice flow and "lowering" the coil deck.
Edit for pictures as soon as this img server is back

;) mid modding the juice flow.

Cant find the pic of the tube, but this picture of my kayfun should suffice. The positive pin was grinded down for a step ledge to allow the coil to be lowered further.

And now after all the damage. My tanks look and perform the same, just different between single and dual coil :)

Stripped down my kbox mini and removed all of the paint
It was all chipped and flaking, and I kept ending up with black specks of paint on my hands, which transferred to my face etc.
I found a piece in my eye, which was the final straw.

The finish is now bare zinc, which looked great when I first did it because I polished it.
Unfortunately zinc doesn't stay polished for very long and it is just a boring grey now.

I may make some aluminum buttons to replace the red plastic ones, but I need to buy more tool inserts for my lathe and I haven't gotten around to it yet.

automotive clear coat james...

Paints in general (and clear coats in particular) don't bond well to zinc, and especially not to polished zinc.

You need a special primer (which would be pointless with clearcoat) and even then it doesn't tend to stick well enough to endure the pocket wear and handling that a mod goes through.
