Hello, fellow vapers!

I recently upgraded from a halo triton to a vision spinner 2 with a mini pt3 sitting on top. I love them both so far.

Maybe I'm paranoid. Maybe I'm being a noob. But going from a top coil triton tank to the dual bottom coil creates a bit more warmth.

I know that heat is the magic behind turning liquids to vapor, but I also know that excessive heat can indicate problems. So, how much is too much?

Heat is related to air flow and more air flow is better. Low airflow makes for hotter metal parts on the atty. It's normal for the bottom cap section of a metal tank to get warm, real warm, but not so hot it burns your fingers. Inside a metal base you have a coil that's firing at around 200 degrees to vaporize liquid, so it's going to be almost as warm as a mug of hot coffee if you vape heavily for a while.

If the vape tastes good, you probably aren't overheating anything. Too hot = burnt flavor.

Well, a top coil has the heating coil closer to your lips, so you might find a warmer vape with a top coil.

But a DUAL coil takes more POWER, therefore with the dual coil system, your overall power consumption and power dissipation would be higher.

I agree with everything thats been said here. And based on the fact that so many people's every day vape is sub ohm, some well over 10 watts, i'd say you have a long ways to go before getting anywherez near "too hot" =).
