While vaping, I noticed significant reduction in vapor from my 510. Then all of the sudden, no vapor. I thought my 510 atty was dead. This is how I revived it:

1. Blow excess juice out from BOTH ends, battery thread end and wick end.
2. Soak the atty in rubbing alcohol (I'm sure PG alcohol would work) for ten-fifteen minutes.
3. Run the atty under hot water for a minute or so.
4. Blow out the water from BOTH ends, again, until no water is coming out.
5. Let dry by standing it up on paper towel, threaded end towards you for an hour or so (drying time may vary).
6. Before using it again, put a drop or two of e-juice on the bridge. You do not want to use it dry, you may fry it out.

After I did all that, my atomizer worked like new. I also dipped q-tips in rubbing alcohol and cleaned the threads on my batteries. I noticed much improved flavor and vapor production. This is also a good method for periodically cleaning your atomizer. I would think that you could use this method to clean atomizers from practically any other model PV that you have. It seems that 510 atomizers have a rude habit of dying out rather quickly. If you try this method and it still does not work, it may indeed by dead. Always keep a spare atty on hand, preferably two or more.

I found that if you regularly clean your atty, it will not gunk up as fast, but once it has gotten to the point to where you think it is not going to ever work again, try this:

I have revived several 510 atomizers that were useless for making vapor, but still heating up. The coil had so much build up it was no longer making contact with the liquid, so exposing the coil at least kept me from having to throw them out. I am still using the ones I thought were trash and did the mod to, and now I can manually clean the coil (very carefully) with the tip of a safety pin, when I see build up. I can also dry cook them (heat up the coil till it glows, then rinse in the bath, but only on the ones without the wick) I still rinse them in an alcohol bath and then distilled water to get the alcohol off. You can also try one of those sonic jewelry cleaners, for the bath. I just got one and it seems to be getting more of the build up off the inside parts. The sonic cleaner might just extend the life of the atty's I have not pulled the mesh/bridge out of yet, before I find they need that mod.

Good luck!

sorry to say that, but alcohol soaking does not help to really gunked up coil and mesh. did that many times with isopropyl/PGA, soaking times from 15min to over 2 days. however, my experience is limited to PG only Dekang, so can´t confirm with other juices.

I used to use an m401 (assuming that's what you are still using) and I was never able to revive my dead attys. I think this is because they are made better; what I mean by that is: when they are dead, they are dead. The 510 attys seem to fake death quite often lol...

Interesting that alcohol did not clear the gunk tho...it seems to work for me. Do you drip/dip often? I would think dripping would cause more gunk to accumulate.
