First post, hi peeps! How'd you start?
Looks like I'm in solitaire a while, I'm used to it.

Anyway, I got interested in vaping and decided to get a ego tank mega system.
Put together a starter kit so to speak, a few days later the real starter kits arrived.
Story of my life, half the price of how I started...

Anyway, my wife freaked, she said it was like a cigar or a pipe, she wanted one
like a cigarette. sheeesh, exactly what I was trying to avoid after researching.

Anyway, I got her a 306 and we will see how it goes from here...
I am stoked, in just a few days I have almost eliminated analogs from my life.
I'm talking about a habit started at 14 or so and now I'm 51 and some...

Amen to vapor!:2cool:

The "NOOB" section is the most active on the forum so don't feel "stuck" by being here. You can still read anywhere you want. Nearly 8 months and I still spend more time here than anywhere else.

The best we can do is to please our significant other/female SOME of the time. Otherwise I just hope to love more than we fight. Most of the time the only solution is to "grin & bear it".............you can say "I told you so" later when she is spending all her time swapping batteries on the charger; or just bite your tongue and think it. lol.

Welcome to ECF.

haven't seen many reviews but there is a 510 style tank & attie out there now. Another option would be the 510 with Bogue Cartomizers. They hold about 1ml of liquid so last a pretty good while without refilling and I have never had one leak unless I overfilled it.

Could always wrap a ZigZag paper around the Ego and pass it off to her...........lol.

A logical step up from 306 would be MANUAL 510 (or even better 510 mega xl manual for 280mah battery life but long - 128mm w/ a cartomizer). 510 manuals are totally sealed on the threaded end, They have tank atty and small tanks available (but the tanks are no bigger than the carts - 1/2 ml). I use Boge 510 standard resistance cartomizers w/ manual 510's and I only use the atomizer w/ a drip tip to test juices. I actually use a 306 atomizer and 306 drip tip. Dripping is totally not recommended for auto batteries - only for manuals. And when refilling cartomizers, if a carto leaks it will leak right where you can damage or kill and auto battery. Cartomizers are so much nicer than using cart+atty though they are a bit of extra expense. I can get a week or more good use out of a Boge carto (which is 2 weeks for me because I use two at once).

You could just get her a 510 mega xl manual battery and charger cable to try (because although 510 and 306 can share attys they may be different polarity batteries so it's safest to use their own charger). If you can find out for sure that it's safe to use each other's charger cable then you could do that. Get her the battery to try with her existing atty+cart and get some Boge standard resistance (not LR) 510 cartomizers - you can find both at LiteCigUSA.net w/ cheap shipping. You could also get a 306 drip tip there but she can only use it on the manual battery.

Hi, unkstur....I'm in Tulsa, too. Welcome to ECF and to the wonderful world of vaping! I'm using a REO (mod) now, but I used an eGo for months and months. Do you realize we have a real e-cig store here? Vapor Kings is in Sand Springs. Maybe that's where you got your 510 tanks...I know they have them. Anyway, welcome to ECF!

First post, hi peeps! How'd you start?

How'd I start? Long sad story, really. Here it goes.

Back in January, I lost my job. I had money saved up for a few months of living. I had to really buckle down and budget myself. But what I couldn't do was quit smoking. I still bought a pack a day in lieu of eating better meals. I learned how to eat on a buck a day when I was really hungry, just so I can keep buying cigarettes. Well, that all came to a head when I was getting very close to not being able to afford even cigarettes anymore. OK, I wasn't able to afford them the day I lost my job, but I still bought them.

So I got to thinking. The 7-11 sold the Njoy and some disposable brand. The disposable was 10 bucks, and supposedly lasted for about two packs of cigs. Still comes to 5 bucks a pack. The Njoy was 20 bucks, and came with 2 cartridges, one battery. I figured each cartridge should last a couple of packs. Not only that, but they sold the refill carts for 20 bucks for 5. So, I figured I would be getting 10 packs for 20 bucks. Turns out, it was all wrong. Those carts don't last that long.....but, I found out a way to refill the njoy carts on cheaper e-liquid. Long story short, I did it because I couldn't stop smoking, and I thought this would be a good way to save money from buying a pack a day. I had always thought about doing it for health reasons, but it took the money reasons to get me started. After a week of not smoking, I felt great. I swear by them, and I'll probably puff my e-cig for the rest of my life. I just love doing it.

Most people realize a significant savings with Ecigs over cigarettes. If you get to the point where you are no longer trying everything to find your favorite, then you can buy in quantity and save even more. At $40 a carton and up, a tobacco budget translates to lots of leeway in ecigs and still presents a savings.

I'm sold on the Ego style and have migrated from 510 atomizers through to mega, tank, and mega tank type B. I still keep a 510 and a 306 around with LR attys and drip tips. Drip tips are great for sampling juice. I like the exposed atomizer coil on the 306.

Unkstur is my uncle and I wanted to thank him for his research hours. I went to visit him and he had this device that I had never seen. Everytime I've encountered a ecig someone has they've been generic Chinese mall/convenient store one time use devices so I was just ignorant.

He's pluming vapor like a chimney and raving about his ego-T 900 mah. He graciously let me vape on his toffee and heat up his battery and educated me on all these compatible atty's etc... So I'm like oh hell yes, I need this in my life! Menthols are crystalizing me and I'm killing myself slowly. So I go to vapor kings in Oklahoma and Jeff the Vapor King gets me two ego-T's and flavors. Last night I drank crown black and vaped and it was lovely. So today I go back to vapor kings and Jeff hooks me up with two more ego-T's; bringing my grandfather one home as a gift tonight. Jeff at Vapor Kings helped me mix a menthol mix for him that was lighter than 11. While I'm there Unkster calls me and asks if I've been to their store yet? He ordered something suggested on this thread. The owner and Jeff say it's cool and get it from the back. So while I'm there a woman comes in and is talking about root beer not being right. They give her a fresh bottle and she's eyeing my new ego-T so in front of the vapor kings I give her the demonstration I learned from Unkster and they didn't stop me cause I'm down to vape! Day 01 without Analogs!

Greatest people in the world, really feeling the love from the community and people in this.

I'm 26 and have been smoking a pack a day for about 7 years. I've always loved smoking, but hated being a smoker. Few thing are better than lighting up after a big meal or sitting on the porch smoking and sipping beer on a summer evening. However, few things are worse than NEEDING a cigarette when you can't have one, waking up feeling gross every day, or smelling bad all the time.

I tried to quit several times, but always failed because of those times when I legitimately liked to smoke. I also felt that because I'm still young, there was plenty of time to quit in the future.

Then, my mom told me about seeing PVs at the gas station and asked me to look into them (she's always hated that I smoked). I found this forum, but was still skeptical until I tried a PV out at a mall kiosk. I immediately did some more research and ordered an eGo after realizing that even the crappy mall brand felt like smoking a cigarette.

At first, I told myself that I wasn't really trying to quit and I could still smoke if I wanted to. When my last pack ran out, I planned to get another one as soon as I had a really strong craving. Well...I finished that pack 13 days ago and still havent bought another one.

I'm using an eGo with a mega atomizer. The 2ml cart and the eGo's battery last me all day at work. When i get home, I switch to a drip tip, lower nicotine, and more "fun" flavors, making my e-cigarette into more of an e-hookah. I'm totally happy with my hardware so far, so once I stop sampling all kinds of liquid, I should break even monitarily pretty soon.

So that's my story. Thanks to everyone here for the wealth of advice and information this forum supplies! This place (and vaping in general) is great!
