I've been wondering what others think about this. I've tried getting a number of people to switch to vaping, but those that do try it seem to go back to cigs. I always give them this site to help make it easier, but I've never seen any of them on here.

For myself, I believe that I could have made the switch, but ECF made my experience much easier and better.

I could have also made it without ECF but this forum definately makes it easier. Like most i spent $$$$$ I did not have to if I had found this forum sooner. It is also nice to be able to keep up with the latest and greatest, from mods to DIY and sales. I have posted previously about getting others into vaping and I am at 7. 5 have totally quit 2 (menthol smokers) just can't seem to break free. Trying to find out why not sure if Menthol is the link or not. None have come over to ECF. Oh well I know I am 4+ months free of the coffin nails and ECF has helped!

Hey Spaky I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have switched if I hadn't found ECF. I came here to see what an ecig looked like and the more I read about it the more fascinated I became. I really had no intention of trying one. Thanks to the advice and help of members back then I started vaping and haven't stopped yet.

I think someone has to have the desire to make the switch and when they're ready they'll do it.

I would not have so I could not have quit without ecf.Its why its the only place that that I have supported this year with any funds, didnt even buy girlscout cookies this year. The guidance was unmeasurable for me in so many different angles of vaping that is became a hobby , and most no one does a hobby they don't like.

QFT! I had quit smoking for six months before relapsing for 3 months. That's when I saw an SE ad online. I almost signed up for their "free trial" before I found this site. So even though I think I could have switched without ECF, I saved a lot of money thanks to it. Which is a good thing cause I've already spent plenty without the price gouging.:D

My first ecig was a Health-E cigarette. Even though the damn thing exploded inside the case and the second battery died in a week I saw the potential of e-cigs. And I relapsed those first couple months too but only occasionally.

I knew nothing about ecigs and no one I knew had even heard of them. So like most people there was a lot of hit and miss at the beginning. It was invaluable to have the forum to use as a reference and ask for help when I did need it.

I loved smoking btw. I thought I would never give them up.

It took ALL my willpower not to vote for Suck it, Assclown! That's just the type of sentiment that just about always gets my vote. But I held back and voted for ECF instead. I made myself proud. ECF really has been instrumental in making my vaping experience better than it otherwise would have been. Thanks, ECF, the vaper's AA!

Since I started back in August I''ve seen great improvement in the e-cig industry as a whole. I attribute some of this in part to to ECF. I've seen the membership here grow at an amazing rate and the quality and effectiveness of the forum grow amazingly as well. It is a reflection on the management and moderation of the forum itself.

I voted for the second one. I had been vaping for a month, before I found ECF. It was the legal battle with the FDA that drew my attention and why I finally decided to join the forum.

That being said, the information and advice that I found here, helped me to find the best e-cig and e-juice for my wants and needs. :)

Of course, you are preaching to the converted here. People who don't like ECF aren't here to answer the poll.

That said, ECF made my experience much, much better. I saw a picture of Leonardo DiCaprio with a SmokeStik. I spent several hours at their website and when I went back to make a purchase, everything had changed. That made me suspicious* so I started looking further and found ECF.

Obviously a lot of people have quit using SmokeStik, but it would have been the wrong PV for me. They offer two flavors -- tobacco and menthol. The flavor of tobacco is NOT why I smoked. I've had about 2 puffs of tobacco since I made the switch. Bletch. I think I would have stuck with it because it wouldn't have tasted worse than a cigarette, but finding ECF allowed me to find a starter model and flavors that were right for me.

I never recommend unless someone shows an interest (I remember how I would have reacted if someone tried to interfere when I was smoking.) When I do tell people about ECF, I point out that vaping isn't for everyone. I think the people it works best for are those for whom the nicotine is important but the activity — what to do with your hands, satisfying your oral fixation, etc. — are as important. Vaping is the only nicotine delivery system I know of (other than smoking) that deals with both aspects of the habit.

*Something to do with the U.S. division moving to a new warehouse and the Canadian division shipping for them in the interim. (I didn't know enough at the time to ask how the Canadian site could offer nicotine.)

I have no idea if I'd have made it without ECF, but I know ECF made it better for me. Since I lurked here and read before i bought anything, i got the right PV for me first time out. YAY! I got answers to questions that i didn't know even existed. So when things were a bit weird with the learning curve, I'd already seen the answer to my question 9 times out of 10.

When I found ECF more than 2 years ago it was a predominantly British affair with just over 400 members. There was still a US prescence with Tropical Bob, ratindahat and Cash amongst others and you pretty much knew a majority of the posters, very cosy...

There wasn't the huge choice of ecigs then , liquid was only just being made available locally by Jason of TW and Simon of Liberro ( formally e-cigs.co.uk ) and Steve from Puresmoker ( then he was a Mod here ), you had a choice of about 7 or 8 ecig models and the 901 was the cig to have and the strongest juice you could get was 18mg before Jason started to do 32mg ( yes , you got Jason of TW to thank for that one ).

Finding ECF those years ago certainly helped me make more informed decisions and where to purchase various things. So yes 2 years ago it did help me with the whole thing, I don't know if I would look at it so foundly had I been discovering it these days.

I could have made it - I had started vaping before I found this forum, and had even joined another forum. But, I did not feel comfortable at the other forum and even though I as able to use it in order to get insights on some better places to buy from and the better products, not being comfortable I never hung around their or felt good about the vaping community until I found ecf.
