ok.....I guess I have to finally ask, cuz I am confused. If I turn my Provari up quite a bit I get burnt coils....but I hear all this talk about 50 watts, 75 watts.....what the heck?
the old chart shows. 1.2 ohm coil at 3 volts is ideal ( 7.5 watts )..... So how does anyone cape at 20, 30, 40 or more watts?
I would like more flavor.....and I have a nautilus with 1.6 coils.....but am only at 4 volts....and I thought that it suppose to be the best setting...... If I go higher it burns
What am I missing here

Wattage directly relates to Build.
Your tanks simply do not support higher power

More power requires better Air Flow an Better wicking. Basically more of both. It usually also requires a bit heavier gauge wire to control heat time a bit.(Thin wire heats extremely fast)

Look to Tank designs for a better understanding.

So apparently there are no charts for sub ohms out......I was wondering if this chart I see all the time is the NORMAL cuz it's always referred to.

It's normal for small stock coils, like cartomizers and simple clearomizers that don't have a lot of airflow and use small-diameter, high resistance coils, like crxess explained above. Those coils use 32-30 gauge wire, usually, which heats up and cools down fast.

For higher watts, you need atties with large coils, plenty of air and wick, 26 g wire, or even thicker than that. Those coils take longer to heat up, due to the low resistance, and need much more power to get going.

I would love to have something that give great flavor.....but I don't rebuild and think there has got to be something out there for stock stuff we buy..
I have 1.6 ohms and have used coils up to 2.5..... But still chasing the great hit.
So in other words all the items sold will never get me there.....I have to build coils or stay where I am?

What is the highest volts a 1.6 can take without burning?

Bigger coils take bigger watts.

It depends on the build and the atomizer you're using. It's best to follow manufacturer's recommendations. Trying to take a coil beyond it's specs will not give you a better hit or flavor--quite the opposite.

If you want to try higher wattage vaping, I suggest Kanger Subtank; it comes with premade coils (and an RBA deck), both vertical and horizontal, that are made for high wattage vaping and if you don't like it, you can safely use your Subtank as a mouth to lung, lower wattage topper using higher resistance coils and restricting the airflow accordingly.

First, your Provari is NOT going to support High wattage vaping. your going to need somethig that can handle sub ohm loads. Look into Sigeli for decent cheap capable mods. The Releux RX200 or however that thing is spelled.... Costs about 50 bucks and will run up to 200watts, coil dependant... For a tank look into the crown. I Have a crown with the stock .25 coil heads and I regularly run it around 75-90 watts. tons of flavor and tons of vapor.

I only have a Provari mini......and a few I stick 20
Have always used Kanger coils in protanks, and a few Nautilus minis.
have always been somewhat satisfied, but after 3 yrs.....looking for something better I guess.

May I suggest Eleaf GS Air tanks? They are inexpensive, very nice and will work nicely on your iStick and ProVari and they are very good flavor and vapor producers.

Or try Kanger Aerotanks (or Emows) with dual coils or VOCC coils. Also a nice vape.
