How is your new Dura-C doing?

How do you like your Dura-C / 510 manual switch?

  • It works great. And I love it!

  • I love it but I have a useless PCC now.

  • I don’t like it and I just want a properly working automatic battery.

  • It killed my atomizer.

  • The battery died.

  • Both the atomizer and battery died.

Tinear--good suggestion about removing the baffle. I'll give it a try if I start to have problems with this atomizer. Vince has a good suggestion, too, about adding some wool to the chamber.

Vince--I don't think it's the carts. As soon as I switched from the low performing atomizer to the other atomizer the Dura shipped with, the liquid stopped getting sucked into the top chamber and the vapor immediately improved--and this was on the same battery and same cartridge. I'm guessing the liquid getting sucked into the top chamber therefore has something to do with the atomizer.

It's just weird . . . I've had atomizers simply go cold, but I've just not experienced this kind of degredation and so quickly.

I guess I'll be e-mailing Jeff. Bummer. I can live with a short battery life for the kind of "umph" and vapor I get with the Dura-C. I cannot, however, live without the "umph" and the vapor. :(

It seems that when an atomizes gets weak and you hit on the cart the juice gets pulled past the atomizer without being vaporized and gets to your mouth.
I just Hate sending e-mails though, feels like I'm begging or something. Jeff is great though. Always polite.
I'm sure if I lived close to his company he would already have my picture up and a note saying "Don't let this pain in the a** in the building" hahaha.

Vince, I know what you mean. Jeff has been nothing but gracious and helpful, and I sooo hate to e-mail with a problem, especially when I know how under the gun they've been.

And no worries, Tinear, I've put my bad atomizers aside (2 from my original Dura and 1 from the new Dura-C) to send back to Jeff. They're putting out so little vapor that it's hardly even worth trying to vape with them. :( But the other one is going strong, and I think I could vape upside down with it. :)

LOL, Disman . . . I'm crossing my fingers that you'll have good success.

And truthfully, I'm not upset. When the Dura is working well, there's just nothing like it. Lots of warm vapor with a real punch. I'll gladly stick with Janty until it works out the bugs. Truly an amazing vape--just got to figure out how to make it a CONSISTENT, amazing vape. :)

On another point, I was reading over on the Newbie forum about the possibility of the metal wick being too far recessed to make good contact with the cartridge. I did a quick and dirty measurement of my two Dura-C atomizers, and 'lo and behold, the top of the metal wick on the one that is not performing well is 1/16" of an inch below where the metal wick on the good atomizer is located.

Accordingly, I pulled the cotton out a bit more in the filter and tried again, thinking perhaps it's a contact issue. Well, a bit more vapor, but not much. And truthfully, I should have known that wasn't the only issue because I can't get it to perform well even if I drip directly on the atomizer. (And, yes, I blew out the atomizer before even attempting a drip to make sure it wasn't flooded.)

I'm not going to boil the atomizer or anything funky that would void my warranty. I'm very careful about that . . . also, I only use Janty liquid in my Janty products so as not to void any warranties or confuse any issues.

I had my 510 atomizer die and am waiting for one I ordered from Jeff. I put my atomizer on the battery, it does not get warm, but will produce a little vaper, then quit. I noticed though, and it is not my imagination, that the atomizer sucks a lot of air. I even unscrewed it and checked the threads, thinking that something was preventing it from getting a good seal. No, even off the battery with my finger on the end, it sucks a LOT of air. I don't have another atomizer (dammit) to compare it to, so is this a common thing? Why would it do this? If anyone who has a good and bad atomizer to compare side by side, please let me know your findings.

Thanks!!!!

Thanks Julie. I wonder why? If it is just the element that is dead, why the air flow difference? Mine acts like a seal or something went bad. Maybe I'll start a new thread. I can't remember any mention of this about any other atomizer.

Julie-or anybody- does the bad atomizer give just a wee bit of vaper then stop? That is what mine does. It won't heat, just a bit o' vaper.
