I just hit my 100-day anniversary of quitting about a PAD of the nasties.
It seems like I am still 'feeling' changes going on to my body, taste buds, breathing, chest / lungs, sense of smell, etc.
My question is.....

Does it get even better?
How long after you quit cigarettes did you continue to actually 'feel' health and physical improvements?
If so, what improvements?
Can you put some numbers on it, maybe, in terms of months, years, etc?

Thanks in advance. Any info, observations, experiences greatly apppreciated...

For me: 3 packs a day....

At first there is the purging of mucus/fluid because the cilia in the lungs are no longer paralyzed, so one tends to cough up more phlegm early on for at least a week.

Taste buds pretty much fully recovered after 6 weeks - started noticing the change after 4 weeks.

After 3 months there was a noticeable lightening up of the upper respiratory area - that continued to get better and better.

About 3-4 months no morning coughs - I only had when the cool weather would come in, but not anymore.

Walking and climbing begins to improve around 4 months in and continues to get better.

Took me about a year to know I'd never go back as long as ecigs were available.

It varies from person to person. For me....2 packs a day, I use to wake up coughing up phlegm. Within a couple of weeks the cough went away. I don't remember when my taste buds came back to life but it was very long but my sense of smell came right back. I could smell cig smoke on smokers almost right away where I couldn't before.
