Question - I am a fairly new mod user. My mod uses two 14500 batteries. I have had it for two months. I use three sets of batteries and alternate them. I've noticed that the battery charge is lasting about half as long as it did when they were new.

How often am I supposed to replace the batteries?

Thanks!
Sandy

I vape at about 4 volts with a 1.25 dual coil cartomizer.

That's pretty stout. It comes to 3.2 amps. I use 14500s in a Reo mini with a 1.8 ohm atomizer that's 2.05 amps. I can't place it but, I seem to remember that I read somewhere that pulling more that 3 amps on those batts would shorten the life.

I'm curious, what mod are you using?

A little Varicool VV box mod from SmokTek. Maybe it's because I use the dual coil cartos. Oh, I also use the GoGo 3.5 ml dual coil cartos, too. I think they are around 1.5 - 2.0.

You don't see a lot of VV mods that take 14500s that's why I asked. I think you're probably pushing the amps a bit. Actually, it sounds like you're pushing the mod close to it's cut off point too. Have you considered going to something with higher resistance?

That meter won't really give you straight battery voltage because it's reading both batteries through the regulator in your mod. If you have a multimeter you can test the batteries themselves.

I use a 2x14500 box mod as well (different than yours) and I get around around 6-8 hours between charges. I vape 1.5 ohm dual coil carto's at just over 5 volts. Vape time depends on how heavy I vape.

Each battery should be coming out of the charger around 4.2 volts.

im unsure if they are "spot on" i have a VV mod and if i hit my power button a few times it tells me my voltage, never used the testers before so i am unable to answer that, sorry, its worth a shot tho, i know 3.7 volt batts when full are about 4.1v fully charged, so yours fully charged should be alittle higher then 3v

Hmmmm, I think I'm getting around 4 hours. The batteries are 2 - 3 months old. Maybe I should leave them on the charger after it turns green? Or just replace them.
