How long did it take to find your "groove"?

I've only been into vaping for about a couple weeks. I've ordered stuff from so many different vendors, that I can't even recall all of their company names. I've been trying out a ton of different juices and some different hardware. I'll admit, I was still smoking cigarettes, as I had a partial carton left when I got into vaping.

None of the juices I had tried really hit the spot and completely took away my urge to light up a Newport. I was starting to get discouraged that maybe this wasn't for me. Which was disheartening, for a couple reasons; 1) I was really hoping to find an alternative to smoking, for money and health reasons. 2) I had already dumped a decent chunk of change into hardware and juices.

Fast forward to yesterday morning, when I ran out of my last normal cigarette. I started thinking about getting another carton. But I also had a few new things to try out. One of them being a Vivi Nova 2.5 and the other being a new juice.

Well wouldn't you know it, this combo completely changed out my outlook on vaping. For the first time since getting into this, I'm really satisfied with my setup and juice. I also haven't had the urge to smoke and did not buy another carton. I'm glad that I found my "groove" relatively quick. I'm sure I'll pick up little things here and there, and try some new things sometimes. But now I don't have to keep ordering new stuff every other day to find what I like.

How long did it take you to get into your groove and find a setup that you liked, and juice(s) that you liked?

My setup as of right now:

Smoktek Bolt mod w/extender so I can use 18650 batteries
Vivi Nova 2.5 tank, running the 1.8ohm heads and trimmed wicks
Pearberry juice from EliteVaporWorks (80PG/20VG, 24mg nic)

With this setup, I'm getting awesome flavor, great vapor and nice throat hit.

Just wanted to share the excitement with everyone.:toast:

Gunner, good to hear this is working for you! My first weeks were a bit easier for me. I was satisfied with my hardware and the juices I had did the trick for me. By the end of week 2 I had given away my last cigs and I have not looked back since. Also have not spent that much money on the new hobby :2cool:

I guess I can't complain about the money I spent so far. From reading some others' posts, I didn't spend near as much as some, lol.

I'm just really glad to have found a combo that works great for me. I think the next big purchase I'll be making is to duplicate my current hardware setup, just in case something happens to the original.

"Two is one, and one is none", as the saying goes.

A very good idea Gunner! I didn't really feel comfortable until I had 4 power supplies (batteries), 2 chargers, 6 weeks' worth of cartos/clearomizers/tanks, a couple of atties and enough juice to last a month past the time it would take the next juice order to come in.

I'm probably being a bit paranoid here, but as you said, "Two is one, and one is none".

I bought a ProVari and 2 vivi novas right off the bat 2 weeks in from smoking Blu (which im still enjoying just at dif times and if I can put the ProVari down)

I look at it like this. I paid 220ish for the Provari mini with batteries charger etc, 30 for 2 vivi novas and some misc items, and 19.99 for a 30ml of juice. I'm still less then I was spending in just 1 month of smoking analogs! Techically you could buy yourself a Brand new ProVari Mini every month and your juice and still be right around what you were paying if you smoked 1 PAD

Went from an eGo-T to a Lavatube to a Provari (and now a second Provari, for giggles sake, not a backup)

Went from cheap noname attys to cartos to carto tanks and stardusts and now using a DID and ZAP.

I've found my sweet spot for devices, Provari + ZAP combo, insulator removed, fat wick 3/4 wrap of 28 gauge Kanthal ~ 1.2-1.4 ohms and 4.0-4.4volts.

As for juices, I have a couple I could always fall back on as ADV's but I prefer to constantly switch it up trying new things.

The perfect setup is 'more than one'.
To be honest I would never be happy with only one kind of PV, one kind of atty, or only one flavor.
There are 7 different PV's sitting here on my desk ranging from a Provari to a mini mod, all with different delivery systems on them, and all with a different flavor of juice in them. Overkill ... maybe, but I will use them all at some point during the day.

I didn't quite quit the cigs until I got my Nova. That was the ah-ha moment for me. Thank goodness it was early into the vaping experience. About the same as you, two-three weeks in. Ain't it grand?!?!? :D

Yes, yes it is! It was like a light bulb was turned on all of a sudden.

It took me almost a year of on and off vaping/smoking to feel comfortable, but it could have been longer if I didn't find this site!

That's what I've read a lot of; that people who didn't really find what they liked, kept going back and forth between smoking and vaping.

..........and yes, this site is great indeed. Tons of info and everyone seems really nice.

It took 3 months. I like glass/Pyrex tanks, Smoktek replacement cartos single coil 1.7-2.00 LR in 35 and 45 mm lengths 510 connections, Pyrex drip tips and trippy tips, and the battery I want I can't afford and don't know if I really need it so....using 10 ego batteries from 400 mah to 1100 mah and 2 ego vv Passthrough batteries 650 mah. When they start dying I would like the Wizards Apprentice $249 so liking it and really getting it is a big deal. I might continue on with egos and get the copper carved and spotted and all different colors with at least 1 vv Passthrough. Yeah. The battery is a big deal to me right now.
Oh and I love WTA Creme Brûlée, Pomegranite and Pinapple....24mg but I prefer 36mg of regular e juices but 24 is fine and at least 50/50 PG/VG but I am waiting for some DIY supplies to mix up about 34 mg 75/25 PG/VG. I do not like tobacco flavors. All the other flavors I have tried I end up being fine with. Some are great but they don't always stay that way and some are weird but they get better or I just get used to them. Finally if I don't get LOTS of warm vaper I throw it to the side and grab the next one waiting. Usually at least 4 different going to keep the batteries cooled off.
