A few days. I wasn't expecting that, to be honest. But over the course of Memorial Day week-end, I just stopped wanting a cigarette. The cravings started getting more and more spaced apart, until I realized it'd been a day without one. I would say it took 3-4 days to go all the way to "ah no, I really don't want one".

I chain vaped, though, I had a few juices going, from 18mg to 0mg.

Hi mark. It did take me a while to not want a smoke. But it did get easier the longer i kept away. My wife continued for the next year or so while i was strictly vaping... for me it took a little longer than a month before i had no desire. Good Luck. Happy vaping...

That is great to hear. It sounds to me like maybe, whether psychologically or physically (who knows?), something has to run its course in a few days time. That is so doable.

That is funny. I have tried to ramp up nicotine to compensate, but I have vaped too much nicotine doing so, and have gone back down on the nic so I can vape more.

I've been chuffing for almost 4 weeks now. I still crave a dry one after meals. Sometimes, I give in, sometimes not. Vape, vape vape, lol. I drive a truck for a living and I thought quitting analogs would kill me but, no, the vaping cured that. I chuff like I would a real tobacco pipe, medium hits, hold it orally, then either inhale or just nose it out. I'm using 18mg juices.

I think I may have smoked 15 analogs in four weeks. Once a 1PAD smoker. Not bad, me thinks!

CHUFF ON! :vapor:

I started out using 18mg but I actually think it may have been too high for me, so the even after only the first few days, I had no desire for a "real one". A blood pressure medication maybe, but not a cig ; )
Honestly, after about a week or so, I started to really enjoy the flavor I was vaping, I stepped down to 12mg and the cravings just sorts vanished.
I also spent HOURS on the internet researching anything and everything I could about vapeing, especially all the different vendors, and it actually helped distract my mind! and how does one spell Vape-ing?? Vaping? Vapeing? All 3 are underlined in "idiot red" lol!!

This is all great, and very interesting. A couple folks say a few days. A couple folks say ~some~ craving up to a month. In the past, I tried to quit smoking twice, where I actually did for about 6 weeks, and then fell off my wagon. In any event, there is jonesing when moving from tobacco to nicotine, which says something to me. I would rather get rid of whatever that mystery thing in tobacco is.

It only took me about 72 hours, but I smoked American Spirits before I switched, so I didn't detox off of as much as other smokers did. For a month, I still loved the smell of an analog being smoked but after a week I could not even stand the taste of one. Now I don't even like the smell of them. My wife tried to switch and it didn't stick but she is about ready to try again.

Everyone is different bro, but once you beat it it seems to stay beat.

I alternated between vaping and smoking at first. The more I vaped the less I wanted to smoke. Over the course of only a few days I was only smoking one analog a day. Finally I had an honest moment with myself....compared to vaping the smoke just tasted awful. So, I cut that one out as well. It's been ~10 days and I've not had an analog since. And I've had no cravings for one either.

You'll get there, just let yourself go longer and longer between analogs and by the time you cut them off for good you won't even miss them.

It IS doable, and easier than we think. Now, YMMV, and I know I'm not out of the wood yet. I'm still waiting for the craving to come back !

Me too - but vaping too much made me feel slightly sick / sluggish. So I always have a low (6) or no-nic close by, for when I just crave the taste and feeling. Just like cigarettes, I sometimes vape mindlessly, and it does help me think lol. Now I usually have 3 tanks - the "vape of the day" at 12mg or so, one "Emergency vape" at 18 or 24, and one "Guilty pleasure" at zero. First two are usually tobacco or coffee, and the last one is fresh fruits / light dessert.

I also have flavor OCD, so I need the rotation :)

I had one. Just one, when I came back to work on Thursday after my long week-end. It wasn't what I used to smoke, which probably helped, but I didn't like it AT ALL, and more surprisingly it wasn't even satisfying either. Smoked half of it and got my ecig out to finish the break :)

I vaped and continued to smoke occasionally for one week. Haven't smoked since last October. I was a 41 year 1.5 pack a day smoker.

Now THAT is a success story! Nice job!

My wife did the exact same thing, but she smoked the whole cig. She hasn't had one since....

I switched to vaping fully about a week and a half ago. I smoked one cigarette about 2 days in and it was disgusting. Didn't stop me from finishing the cigarette, but I didn't really crave another one after that. Now, I went through a very high stress situation today, and all I wanted was a cigarette, but I picked up the e-cig instead and it passed. I have a feeling I'll have sporadic cravings for awhile depending on the situation.

Definitely. Certain situations make you crave a cigarette, no doubt about it. You did the right thing. Vape, vape vape. The craving will pass and you'll teach yourself to reach for the vape, not the cig.

Took me no time at all; but I was really ready to stop. I took right to vaping and never looked back. I was enjoying all the different flavors which intensified as my taste buds regained there senses. Then I intrenched myself into all the different possible setups with vaping and it's now become more of a hobby.
