How long do your coils normally last?

My coils last a lot longer than my wick, though I just switched to sub ohm and I've noticed the resistance gets higher much faster than it did with my vw mod. I guess it being so low to start out it takes less time to get up, but it seemed like less than 3 weeks for a .7 ohm to get up to 1.5ish ohms! But usually I pull my (cotton) wicks within a couple days of use and reuse my coils for about a month, maybe a little more depending.

Yeah my coils last a while. My dripping atties get fresh cotton threaded every few days, I'm running them all with micro coils. For my gennies, pretty often as my skills are nothing to boast about. The aga t2 kicks my .... with those top coil hot spots. The rsst however is more compliant.

With 30 ga Kanthal A1, the longest I've left a coil on is about a month. It didn't need changed, I just wanted something to do :)

I pull a new rolled cotton wick thru about once a week :)

Here's a pic of that old dog coil :)

i was using a small bristle to clean the gunk off the coils. it got me thinking, why am i spending time cleaning when i should just rebuild it? so i did. usually at the 3wk mark. if i keep this pace up, out of 52 weeks of the year, i'll be making at least 17 coils. going to order a 100ft kanthal and silica so i wont treat it like a short supply. i take too long making coils anyway but after some time i should be faster at rebuilding. with that much silica i'd be set for life!

I've got to start dry burning my coils and replace only my wicks-when needed. I've been at RBA's for quite a while and I've always changed my coils/wicks out together. When I was new at RBA's, I primarily did this as an excuse to wrap the "perfect" coil. Now I can wrap the perfect coil and still change them both out at the same time out of habit.
