Hi there, I'm curious about how long a typical e-cig battery (510 or M401) will hold it's charge in storage. That is, on a full charge, how long until it will self discharge?

I know that other rechargable batteries I have, you can't store them at all, they'll be dead by the time you go to use them. I plan to do a lot of camping, hiking, kayaking next summer and am thinking of bringing along a bag of 10 batteries. Just a little worried that after a few days they will all be dead.

Thanks for any advice!

Storing and priming of batteries

Wiki reports:
Self-discharge rate on li-ion batts
8% at 21 °C
15% at 40 °C
31% at 60 °C
(per month)

5%/month on lithium-polymer batts

So it's a good idea to keep them as cold as possible. This is also true for long term storage, btw.

Many campers use the Kensington battery pack - will last 55 hours - with a 510 passthrough, (you could charge regular batts with a universal usb charger too):

Amazon.com: Kensington Portable Power Pack for Mobile Devices (K38021US): Electronics

And that's the cheapest price I've seen on that in a while.
