How long does a CE2 R4 last?

I'm looking into CE2 R4 Cartos as a way to bring down my vaping costs, as well as improve my overall vaping experience.

It appears that you can get 100 CE2 V4's for just over $80, here is the source: http://www.e-liquid.cn/catalog/index.php?cPath=105&osCsid=cd996cda020baa34036ca31b8dc3f2e5

So here are some scenarios I've calculated:

All calculations assume no DOA's, so bear this in mind.

1 Person vaping, new carto every 3 days will last you roughly 300 days or 9.8 months.
1 Person vaping, new carto every week will last you roughly 700 days or 1.9 years.

My experience in vaping has taught me that an average atty lasts about 1 month. So for the CE2 carto to be cheaper than atties, ideally they have to last more than 4-5 days.

Besides costs there is also the comfort level to factor in, every time you replace that carto you're essentially getting a brand new atty, which is nice.

So my question is, if you don't service or clean a CE2 v4, and use the same juice for each cartomizer. If you don't alternate cartos and just use the same one continually, how long will it last? With heavy vaping!

If it lasts a good solid week, then this is definitely something to investigate further.

The coils are robust on these and can withstand multiple dry burns in most cases. With that being said, depending on your juice they can 'gunk up' quickly. I recommend cleaning them and they can go on a while. I've had some last a month or more while others have issues from the get go. The latest revisions seem to be curing these but keep in mind the QC from this company has been a long, rocky road.

I'd buy some in the US before committing to a bulk order to make sure you like them. Most people like them better at higher ohms; from 2.8 and higher.

Ordered mine from CoV, (Clouds of Vapor), received > than two weeks ago. Have used 4 out of one 5-pack. Pretty sure I received R4 before he even knew he had them. Cannibalized the first one after 8 hours use. Somehow I nicked the cup while trying to remove the third, (innermost), seal. So, decided to see what I had. The other three have been in constant rotation ever since. Refilling with the same 50/50 premix juice. But cutting the premix with different amounts of PGA, searching for a blend that wicks consistent load to load. My use on RIVa w/cone proved to be a very hot vape and cartomizer tube. Switched that same carto over to eGo 900 mAh batt, (no cone), resulted in a cooler vape. Still warmer than my preference though, so all use since has been with those same three R4's, rotating using Li'l Sister, set at lowest possible voltage, 5 o'clock position. (Sorry, no meter). The cartos I'm using appear to be very sensitive to juice viscosity. A longer dwell time seems to improve performance. But, to answer your question, my three R4's have been in constant use/rotation for > two weeks, and well into the third. No way to determine, but fairly confident I have 2.5 ohm cartos. Have done nothing in the way of cleaning them other than using a Q-tip to wipe off the middle & inner, (fill) seals when I recharge the cartos. I have 3.0 ohm R4 cartos on their way to me from CoV. Don't know if this info is any help to you, but it's JMHO.

Cheers,
otrpu

I have tons of R3s and R4s and with the PTB mod they are the best thing I've ever tried....and I think that may be everything. I have not had any burn out on me...and only one dropped in power on me. I've had some for over a month. Make sure you go with 2.8 or higher ohms. Honestly.. IMO...the higher the better. I like variable voltage with these babies with the higher ohms you have so many flavor and sweet spot options you just wouldn't believe how different and amazing your juices will taste!!

GET THEM!! YOU WON'T BE SORRY!!!

make sure you do an initial dry burn....and make sure you check out the videos on youtube!!! They will show you the NEEDED PTB MOD and everything else you need to know to have the best vaping experience you have ever had!!!

Vape On!!!

I just got mine and filled them and well I'm not really that impressed. I filled it with about .8ml of juice. I find the throat hit is not as good as a regular atty and after about 2 vapes i get a nasty taste. In general the flavor is weak. I'm wondering if I did something wrong because these just really seem awful. I have been using just a regular 510 with regular batteries. Nothing special. Now I plan to get a riva I'm wondering if it that will make a difference?

I haven't had any reason to complain about my ce2's. care and feeding is pretty easy and if kept up like the people here have mentioned, they last at least a month. As was also mentioned, you'll get some that have issues due to the lack of QC at the company(the people are doing this piecework and get payed by the number they produce so I don't think they're looking too closely at how well the product is put together.) If it weren't for the issues with the cracking tubes, I'd even recommend the clearomizers because you can take them completely apart and that makes for an easier cleaning procedure. But as of this moment I haven't seen any tubes that can stand up to any test of time.(clearos are ce2 you can see through)

Thank you! I now know how to do this - interesting - you have a manual batt - I only have auto batts - so - i know this is going to sound weird - I have been taking the carto apart - cut the bottom off of it, and then hold a ciggie lighter to it and make the coil red hot like you did with the manual batt. Then - here's the tricky part - I only have the old cartos that have the wadding in them - so I put it all back together. I'm just getting into this, and so far, have managed to 'resurrect' one carto that vapes pretty decent. I find the horizontal wire works best - the vertical ones I can't do right.
Again, thank you for the reply, and I, being a member of YouTube, have subscribed to your videos.
Happy vaping, my friend!

Glad you found the video helpful. It was made not by me but member 'badkolo' who works for GotVapes now. I merely post it when someone asks about dry burning. But yes, it's best done w/ manual batts.

Update on my sitch: I ordered a BoxMod from 'Godzilla' - which I'm very pleased with - it's a basic 3,7V so I can dry-burn all I want now that I know what it is. Also hit up that link earlier up in this Thread from the e-liquid shop from China - but I decided after reading this, to just order 60 of them. Good prices, but slooooooooow 'processing' time. This is Day 4 since I ordered and it's still processing. I also got some of their DK e-juice to give it a try - good price on that too.
I also made a Manual PassThru that I hooked up to a variable voltage adapter - one of those old 1990s adapters just sitting around gathering dust. It works great. It's fun playing around with the voltages, although I think the adapter being old as it is, is not really putting out what the dial says...

I have used ce2's extensively for a year and a half. The best way to go IMO is ce2-x from gotvapes. I don't know if anyone else carries them or under another name. The wicks are different than other ce2's and work much better. If you want to get longevity I would get the clearomizers because it allows easy and thorough cleaning. Being able to visually adjust the silicone plug on the cup is a must and the ability remove the tube for cleaning is nearly a must. Ce2's always seem to have the ring pinching the wicks too much to work properly. So using something pointy to pull it up a bit you can get the flow rate to your liking. The downfall is the tubes are not very pocket friendly. Removing the carto from the device is a must while in a pocket. As for the longevity I can easily get a month out of one clearomizer. Depends on the carto. A 5 pack generally lasts me two months. If you can get through the little modifications it's smooth sailing. It can be frustrating at first though. I would grab some extra tubes that are sold separately so in the event of a tube cracking or getting loose you can just pop a new tube on and keep on going rather than throw it away. I hope that helps. I don't know if you needed all that info but it's what I have found using ce2's.

2nd Update - I got the cartos - they're OK - but not sure I'll buy them again. Not a helluva lot vapour with them. I am using a 60/40 PG/VG e-juice right now. Right now, I'm down with the clearos - yah, they have wadding and crap with them, and they're vertical coil, but I have found how to repack them and they last a few more days.
More updates later..
