How long does juice stay good? (Accidentally quit smoking! Haha)

Got motivated to try again to cut down/quit analogs & bought a ton of vaping stuff, mostly liquids. (My old ones from a year-ish ago still smelled okay, but some of the light colored ones had turned a bit darker, so I went ahead & replaced them).

I figured it would take me a while on the e-cig & a gradual reduction in nicotine strength, etc. But I apparently got stubborn & just quit smoking altogether. (Well... been using my PV as an occasional pacifier when my hands & mouth get bored, but with 0 strength juice, so maybe "quit nicotine" is more accurate?)

Anyway, from past experience with quitting, I know that when I'm around smokers and/or drinking, I tend to crave an analog & get myself started smoking again. I want to make sure I've got everything set for my PV to get me past those moments. I've got plenty of attys, batteries, etc., just need to make sure I have juice. So, I'm wondering how long it stays good, since I'm not likely to be using it regularly now. Anyone know if it keeps a long time or if I need to reorder a bit periodically? Never actually seen an expiration date on any. Thanks!

This morning I am vaping juice that I bought last July. It has heat vapor, and flavor. I had it stored in a toolbox so it was in a dark place, but it was not always cool. We do not have air conditioning so there are days that our house temp can reach up to 90 degrees.
Ahh, cool, thank you for the info. I've never seen any mention of them expiring, but just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to end up vaping fungus or something.

Good for you redraven. And it's a great idea to keep a pv around to lower temptation. My husband has done the same thing, but NOT me. I am vaping enough for him & me!
Thank you. :) I am thinking I should keep a good supply of juice anyway until I've been off the cigs a while longer. Just watched a movie with lots of smoking & was going nuts. Would have been in trouble without my PVs.

I know that some vendors say 1 year expiration on their bottles. It's technically roughly 2 years, but with all expiration dates, they mark it only a year for the safety of consumers. Just a warning though, if you store them in a place that the temperature gets too hot, multiple times, I would consider throwing it out.

Just an off-the-wall thought.. Have you considered stocking some low nic juice for when you're drinking? something like 6mg is pretty mild, and if you just keep a little on hand for "emergencies" you might do okay :)

I use 12mg, but I have some 18mg bottles left for this reason!

BTW to answer your question... I've heard one year and I've heard two. I have also read that nicotine has a long shelf life so you don't really have to worry about it being less effective. To prolong life, store it in a cool and dark place to prevent condensation and evaporation (among more gross things like skunking). Some people refrigerate their juice.

I'd vape something up to a year old without a question. Beyond that.. I don't know.

Agreed. I'd be afraid of anything close to two years. Not that my juice even lasts that long  :vapor:
