how long does one kit last?

I just bought my second set of starter kits. Started out with the Joye 510 but eventually found it to be too small to cater to my vaping needs. Just last week I received the EM-RiVa (eGo) and like it much better. Eventually my 510 didn't produce enough taste, the batteries started to die, and the attys died completely.

My question is, how long can I expect my new eGo to survive before having to replace (on average)? I know these things don't last forever, though would like to have a gauge.

I figured that my old batteries may have died from screwing in too tightly and my attys couldn't handle the direct drip. Any other advice to keep em working longer are very appreciated!!!

Atty's die no matter what, dripping doesn't change that, it may actually extend the life of the atty since it keeps the coil wet. But a good name brand atty can last upwards of 2 months (I have a couple of Joye atty's going on 3). As far as the batteries go, I totally killed 2 510 batteries in 2 months, but my eGo batteries are still going strong after 4 with no signs of degrading yet. I have been using LR atty's lately though, and that will shorten the batteries life. I've also heard seen a lot of people here saying to recharge your batteries before they completely die, I do this just because as the battery nears the end of the charge vapor production drops off.

Well others haven't had those issues and seem to be content but when I was done and ready to move on I went to a selfjuicing mod. It really depends on the person. We are all different in what we want and what we can afford. My belief is there is no price tag on better health so whatever device stops you from smoking is the perfect one.

As for attys..Cisco spec attys have worked the best and lasted the longest for me. I tried them all and settled on Cisco. If Im not mistaken Avid has the exclusive rights to sell them and if Im wrong someone will correct me. http://www.avidvaper.com/categories/Atomizers/

EGo batteries should last at least six months. But I would factor in a replacement kit every six months into your budget. That will get you two new batteries and two atomizers plus the charger which may fail as well. If your batteries last longer than six months and you have already budgeted to replace them its like saving money.

LR = Low Resistance, a regular atty is about 3.2 (i think) ohms resistance, Lr attys run 1.5 to 2 depending on the type, they burn hotter and boost vapor/flavor production without using a high voltage mod, but they kill batteries much quicker and die faster than regular atty's (but they're awesome anyway!)

A self juicer is a mad that has a bottle of juice inside it that you squeeze to spray juice into the atty, it's basically dripping, without having to drip. Look up Reo, Alii, etc. many of the self juicers are made of hardwoods and are quite pretty.

Making your own liquid is usually referred to as diy (do it yourself)

@DivisionMatrix: LR atty?

@unsure: self-juicing? does that mean you make ur own e-liquid?

Oh im sorry for not being clear. Selfjuicing mods are PVs that contain a bottle of juice that you feed to the atty so there is no carts or cartos needed (tho cartos are still used by some on them) like the REO in my signature. The REO is my choice of bottomfeeders but there are others to choose from here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-e-smoking-discussion/170084-current-bottom-feed-juice-box-mods-available-links.html

I have both Riva and eGo batteries, plus 5 atomizers going on 7 months old and still going strong. It's not unusual for the batteries to last up to a year. I firmly believe that doing routine maintenance on your hardware will help prolong the life. I always wipe off the connections on my batteries and the chargers before each charge. I give my atties a soak in 91% Isopropyl Alcohol for 15-20 minutes once a week or so, blow them out well and let them dry overnight in a well ventilated area (the fan on the top of my computer case.)

I also blow out the atty that I'm using at least once a day and I rotate them so one isn't being used more than the others. Even doing this, some atties are just prone to die quickly. That's just the nature of the beast and even though I have some going on 7 months old, I've lost quite a few after only a few days of use. These have all been LR atties that I've abused by chain vaping and not paying attention to keeping them wet.
