How long does the pass through last?

I bought a pass through back in July and it died on me last month.

I would say on average a passthrough will last 6 months to one year. I have some that are almost two years old that still work, but 6 months to a year is average.

I think the ones that don't have a battery last longer. Can't imagine what would make these go except maybe if the button goes bad.

In 18 months i'm on my 6th one. However, it is one of the beefier ones with the phone cord looking wire. We'll see if it's any better then the old style.

'Till it quits. I have 2 old ones from latter part of '09 that work great, one of which is on my desk at work and gets used all day everyday. I have one of the newer ones in the truck and I had it replaced after a couple of days, but the replacement is fine... so far. As long as the cable isn't damaged and the switch (auto or manual) funtions, they should last a good while. I keep mine situated where there's not much movement so as not to twist or bend the cable around which can sever the the wires.

Be sure to periodically clean the threads and point of contact of the PT - they can get gummed-up over time just like a battery
