When I started I bought two JoyeTech eGo kits at the end of April 2011. That would be two 900 mAh and two 1000 mAh batteries.

I used the four in rotation exclusively for my first eight months of vaping. After that they pretty much have been used for out and about only. And dry burning attys.

All four are still working. The 900's might be giving me 6 to 7 hours run time now, the 1000's are in the 8+ hour range.

If you get genuine egos, they should last you several months at the least, unless you overcharge them. This is why I always recommend a lamp timer (for wall charging, I don't recommend charging off a computer at all) as often as possible. Makes it physically impossible to overcharge, since the power shuts off at however long you set it for. I would recommend stainless, as there's nothing to chip and flake off, and should stay looking nice for the life of the battery. The painted ones WILL chip and flake though.

My original Joye Ego batteries are from February 2011. The oldest Ego knock-offs I have are from early April 2011.

They're all still working fine except for the one that I dropped. The end-cap popped off and the insides slipped down so that the button was no longer aligned.

So, as far as I can tell, they never die (unless you drop them).

Well, they do die. From my original 2 from 2009, only 1 still works. The first one, that I used all the time, quit lasting very long and had to be charged more and more frequently, then one day, it just stopped firing at all. It lights up when placed on the charger, but doesn't do anything when off of it. So now I just use it to fill up my carto tanks :)

My ego twist is the only device I've had for 2 months. The circuit board had popped out twice now while in my pocket, yesterday I had to solder a couple wires back on after I got home from work, other than that its still firing great and I still get a full day off one charge. I say they're durable, just not pocket friendly.
